Thinking about swapping my tail lights with the Oracle Flush-Mounts. I’ve seen mixed reviews with some saying the Blind Spot Monitoring aim with the Oracles significantly reduces and/or eliminate the BSM functionality. Would appreciate some feedback from those who have installed them with the BSM. Is this a big issue? Anybody come up with a fix/mod that makes them work ok? Feel mixed reviews are wrong and they do actually work ok? Thanks for any help you can offer. ✌

It's simple physics with the oracle lights unfortunately. The sensors don't protrude so the BSM effectiveness is lessened over the stock lights. There isn't really a mod that could fully fix that because it's just the way the unit is designed. They will still work, but not great.

I like the look but to much negativity floating around. I have the LED lights from factory. I don't have any proximity BSM. Just LED rear tail lights . My LED factory lights are bright a plenty however the flush mount oracles are just much better for off roading and in looks department.

Tethmes correctly describes the issue. The flat, wrap-around design of the Oracle flush-mount tail lights prevents the same orientation of the BSM modules as do the [necessarily] bloated OEM tail light housings. The owner who likes or claims to depend on BSM functionality might be better served to leave the factory tail lights installed on his Jeep. While that function will continue to operate with the Oracles in situ, it will do so with reduced effectiveness.

I've the Oracles on my Jeep; they replaced the non-BSM factory incandescent tail lights. I like the aesthetic of the new lights, and particularly the bright lighting when in Reverse.

+1 to all that, and when paired with the reverse bumper lights you feel like Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2.

Thanks for your responses, pretty much what I assumed. I do understand the physics of how the BSM works and the obvious difference in angle of placement between the two different light housings. Was just trying to get some real world feedback on how much it’s affected. I saw a post where someone talked about shimming the sensors for better performance, which sounded unlikely given how much room there is to work with in the Oracles, but thought it was worth asking if anyone made it work better. I don’t rely very heavily on the BSM. It’s just one of those OCD things if the system is there I want it to work as closely as possible to spec. Thanks again!

It doesn’t work like the factory bsm but still is functional. I found it to be ok. But I did put mine back to stock I ended up likening the factory look. The backup lights are sensational!

My old set is for sale in the marketplace.

I have had them installed for about 18 months. I have the factory LED with BSM. I really have not noticed much difference with the Oracles. I understand and agree with the other members comments regarding reduced coverage. I grew up without BSM so it is a nice to have for me. But the factory LEDs stick out so far they got pulled out of their mounts by trees on the trail. Doesn’t happen with the Oracles.

Adding a 3mm thick piece of foam tape to the top of the sensor to aim it downward slightly seems to greatly increase the the functionality in it's new position. Hope that helps!

I watched a TFL video on YouTube where he interviewed a head jeep design engineer, and he was quick to point out that the reason the taillights poke is because of the blind spot monitoring, and if they could have made it flush, and have it still work the same, they would have. So if jeep couldn't make the design work with flush taillights, I can't imagine a 3rd party manufacturer could either.

That being said, maybe it works "good enough" even if it doesn't work as well as stock, I don't know.

Oddly, my wrangler is not equipped with Blindspot monitoring and yet I still have the same big taillight housings, you'd think jeep would have changed it for models not equipped with it.

Just a note, the rearward rotation can cause the BSM to pick up a trailer. I'd say ours pick up our camper about 50% of the time. This causes two annoyances, at night your mirrors indicators stay lit, and you get beeped at on most clear lane changes.

Another advantage of the flush tail lights is that stuff mounted on the passenger side of the tailgate doesn't interfere with the tail light when the tailgate is fully open. I have a NATO gerry can in between the spare tire and tail light, and when the tailgate is fully open, the can would bash the stock tail light but it clears the flush tail light by about a quarter inch.

I don't have blind-spot monitoring so don't have any regrets with the oracle flush tail lights, which I prefer for every reason, trail clearance, tailgate clearance, backup light brightness, and looks.

I decided to bite the bullet and install the Flush-Mount Tail Lights. I used some foam tape to adjust the aim on the BSM sensors more downward and outward as much as the housing would allow. Will see how they perform once I have more time with them out in traffic. I’m sure the BSM will be diminished to some degree no matter what and honestly I’m fine with that. . . I love these new lights. Went with the tinted version (with Threedom beveled inserts). I already had the bumper-mounted reverse lights. Those coupled with the reverse lights in these new tail lights are blindingly bright, even in daylight. Here’s some pics. . .

Good eye! Yes, I’m not a big fan of rolling around with what amounts to brand advertisement. . . well other than Jeep brand advertisement I guess. ✌
