Too bad it's sold out!!
Coop, it sells out within a few hours of opening the registration, for the trail rides. You can show up for free and do everything else though.

Nice Jeep Haus!!
Thanks! It held up to about ten hours of Cat 3 winds during Hurricane Ian, with just a little bit of flashing that had to be fixed! The contractor who built it and has done tons of other work on our property is also a Jeep guy and a good buddy. He and his wife are convoying with my wife and I, and @Buckster (I believe) to Jeepin With Judd.

I too was Plt. SGT for years, and an asset for battalion, brigade, and corps-level exercises/deployments. If I could have just “hid” at battery level, and trained/led my platoon without all of some of the other BS, life would have been simpler. It was very strange. I was loved by leadership at BDE and higher levels, until all of those leaders either died or retired, at which point the battalion haters took their toll on me.

It’s ok though, brother. I survived thirty years of that, got full retirement, full VA disability, and Social Security disability. Combined, I’m making in retirement the same as a one-star general does. I got the last laugh!?
I managed to stay in ANGLICO and away from the Artillery Battalions for my whole career. I've heard it really sucks for the FOs in an Arty Bn. The only trouble is the few Marines that think they're SOF when they get there, and then immediately try to leave for MSOB.

But 13 1/2 years for me. Medical Retirement.

Big Army “Hooah!” to ANGLICO!

I started as a Combat Medic with an M109 Arty unit, then moved to FDC. I was in FA for about half of my career, then moved to ADA (Avenger unit) for the last half. I picked up the Avenger MOS, then I picked up the C4I and Sentinel Radar MOS.

ADA is considered ”artillery,” but to a true red-leg the attitude is definitely different, more technical, more political, less tactically hard-core, etc. At one point we got a new ADA BDE commander, who I served with when he was a CPT in our FA battalion. I asked him how he was enjoying leading an ADA BDE. He sighed, looked at me, and said, “Jeff, all I can say is FA folks take care of their own. ADA folks EAT their own.” That was the environment I was operating in for the last half of my career.

You‘re right about FOs, Sean. Any short or long round is blamed on two people before investigation: the FO and the battery commander of the piece who fired the round.

Thx! Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 36x15.5.
MPGs-12.5 vs 12.6 stock
Ease of entry only .5” from stock
Stance - insane
Only downside feels like braking distance is up and my rock sliders need 1” taken off the front.

I just discovered this thread:

Yea, I live here FL, in Port Charlotte and a horse property down in Naples.

But I am a Texas boy so why am I here? If you are married then you know the answer...IF Sally is NOT happy, NO ONE is gonna be happy. I have lived here for about a year and some months. We met in Miami and she got tired of living out in the sticks on a ranch and she wanted to go back to FL.

This is what I/we gave up to live here on about 1 acre. But she agreed to scatter my ashes on the front lawn of the Alamo.

Jeep Wrangler JL Florida Roll Call! 17 Oaks

Retired Army, 67-94 Artillery, Infantry and then the Army screwed me over and told me they had a new field opening up and they were going to put me in it. So I retired 15 years later with a resume that would have made Bill Gates DROOL. THANK YOU US ARMY for screwing me over!

And for all Army guys... a pic of me and you are going to laugh at this. This is a GOBI (General Officer Bright Idea). Take a Pfc (because he is young and dumb) give him a Jeep and a Multi-million candle power Searchlight in the bed of the Jeep. Assign him to many many Infantry units out on the Battlefield and tell him to shine that light and find bad guys then tell the Infantry to shoot them over there! Yep that is for real

Welcome and nice to see another local member. I'm out in the sticks near US301. New tires really give you an aggressive stance.

Yea I miss it, I came from a ranching family going back to the 1830s. My wife wanted me to retire as she was worried I was going to die with either a chainsaw in my hands or on the seat of a John Deere. Like a fool I let her talk me into it. Yea, nice weather 87 today!

News to me. But way out here, and not being on social media, I don't hear about much. I would be interested if you find any details, although I don't like to do mud, which is pretty much everything around here.

I used to wheel once in a while in Cary State Forest, but I heard the equestrians got all the trails closed to motorized vehicles. I am surprised at the lack of wheeling trails around here.

By the way, the guys over at Happy Trails 4X4 in Jacksonville Beach are great. I do most of my own wrenching, but occasionally I let them do some work if I don't have expertise. Sometime over the next few months I am going to have them do a Centerforce CFII clutch install in my JLUR. Oh, and stay away from 4WheelParts over by the airport.

Nice 392.
