I don't want carpet I my jeep for reasons, so I removed the carpet and replaced the mats with some rubber rugged ridge mats. I removed the rubber spikes on the new mats for use them without carpet. After driving it for a week I found this (see pics). The rr mats are fine but the factory included pads thats are stuck into the floor boards have melted and are gooey like melted tar. The rupture points seem to have started from the support lines on the rr mats but imo that should not have been a problem. Some of the pad is relatively hard.
Is this damage expected?
Should I report it to the dealer?
In maybe a year I was thinking of bed lining the interior.
Should I leave it for now (~year, until I bed line it)?
Should I remove it and all the other bad looking seem tape before bed lining it?
