I just noticed on my jl rear window seal that the rubber looks like it is melting and is all sticky now. Although not a big issue at the moment, I can see it getting worse considering I've only had the vehicle for a month. It's not hot where I live yet. Pacific NW and pretty typical spring weather. Hottest it has been is mid 70s. Anyone else have this issue?

Mine looks exactly like yours. I was thinking it wasn't the rubber, but the adhesive that holds the rubber on the window. Either way, it's very messy if it gets on your skin.

There’s another thread about this. Someone said it has the wrong chemicals in it or something like that. Dealer will replace it and you’ll be all good.

I have this exact thing on mine. Not too worried about it.

I have a little of that too. It's just extra butyl rubber adhesive goop stuff. Clean it off and see if it comes back.

Mine does this as well, I just pushed the goop back where it seemed to come from. But at what point does it all just run out? lol...

I have the exact same issue (see attached pic). Design flaw IMO. The lower part of the rear window gets nuclear hot in the sun and melts the rubber gasket. Has anyone has theirs replaced and have it NOT happen again?

it's not melting rubber... it's the butyl that holds the weather strip to the jeep... it gets hot and runs...

Same here put a small piece of electrical tape over it until the replacement comes in the glue doesn't stick to the tape.
San Antonio is 100D today mighty hot.
