Flag etiquette/protocol

Hello forum, need some advice. I am going to fly two small flags (12x18) on the back of Jeep, using a CB mount and two whips next to spare. Flags are USA and Gadsden. I plan on the USA flag whip to be slightly taller than Gadsden whip. My question, looking at the back of Jeep, should USA flag be next to tire with Gadsden beside it or opposite orientation?

US Flag on the right side of the vehicle.

Yes, I agree. With both flags side by side on passenger rear end, which flag should be next to turn signal and which next to spare, that is my confusion.

US Flag on the right (next to turn signal) and the Gadsden on the left (next to spare)

Ideally they should be on opposite sides of the Jeep but I guess it really depends on what you're mounting them to.

Yes, the flag, when mounted to the back of a vehicle, is flown to the driver's right. All other flags will be to the left. That means that your US flag will be closest to the right turn signal and the Gadsden flag will be closest to the spare.

There is a proper way to display the flag, even on a vehicle.

I'm all for displaying our flag, but for God's sake don't leave it up in the rain, at night, or once it starts to become ripped up. Have some respect.

US Flag should be higher than any other flag if they are on the same side or next to each other. (The exception being another Nation's flag should be at the same level if we are at peace or allied with them.)

Isn't it ok to leave it up at night if you shine a light on it? That's how they do it on fire trucks out here. You should do that!

If you ask me, the most important piece of flag etiquette is: These flags are for every citizen (and resident) of the USA to fly and enjoy. They're part of our country and culture. Don't be afraid to fly a flag because of the flag being associated with a particular group of people. The american flag(s) belong to you just as much as they belong to anyone else in this country.

I'll actually go one further here: I think if you fly American flags on your vehicle or your house you have a greater responsibility to act as a role model adult. When someone displays American flags on their car and commits acts of road rage and shouts obscenities and racial slurs from their car, they're doing a much greater disservice to our country and what those flags mean, than anything else.

So yea, I will hold you to a high standard there! But I like it! Looks nice.
