The new JL shades attach differently than the JK version - no more Spiderballs! The "silver roll" is actually several small spools or bungs that attach to the Jeep's roll bar with a screw and then the bungee loop (sewn into the new SWS) attaches to the bung. I don't know what they are actually called, although someone is has started calling them "SpiderNubbins! What is the silver roll in the pastic bag for?

It's how the shade attaches now. You simple remove factory hardware, and reinstall these mounts with it. The bungees attach to the mounts. What is the silver roll in the pastic bag for?
Yes, you don't have to fully drop, if you have a helper, you can just lean forward a little to get the clips on. If you drop fully, make sure to remove your wipers or you will damage.has anyone installed this yet? i just got mine and I'm wondering if i have to take down the windshield to install the front tabs.
