Can someone send me an example for me to verify that I’m using the right spot? I am installing the Voswitch JL300 and need to ground it properly.

“You will see a welded metal threaded stud sticking horizontally out of the sheet metal with a 10mm nut on it. You can identify it easily because it will already have one or two black factory ground wires bolted to it.”

If you were to connect the Voswitch ground directly to the negative battery post, you would bypass this sensor. The Jeep's computer wouldn't know the Voswitch is drawing power, which leads to 12V charging errors and dead batteries. Always use the fender grounding stud on a 4xe.

The previous picture was one i had on the phone from a different part. Here is a shot i took after work particular to your question.

From back to front / right to left.

Blue bolt with main battery ground and engine ground. Yes the bolt and nut are painted. The flat section of the nut that makes contact with the terminal isn't. So still a good ground.

The bare "bolt" isn't a bolt at all but am extension of the terminal on the engine ground. This is where you would connect your aftermarket accessories. Hmmmm..... where did my nut go?????

Extra blue bolt has nothing going to it. But it is welded to the body and face side of the nut isn't painted. So it would be a good ground as well. Not sure what the factory intention was though.

Awesome thanks for the tutorial.
Mine doesn’t have the nut either on that 2nd bolt. So likely it came that way.

Yes sir. Glad I could help. And great timing since I just swapped the battery. Cheers.
