I have no plans to install a winch and thought the space behind the front bumper/ on top the skid would be a good place to put two all weather duffle bags. I am putting recovery gear in there and don’t care if it ends up stolen (chances are slim).

Do ya’ll see any issues with this? Particularly with where I tie down the duffles to prevent them from shifting too much (small bar and thicker bar in image).

Only thing I’d be worried about is if something fell out at a high speed and ended up hitting a vehicle behind me. Otherwise, if you think it’s secure enough and are not worried about it getting stolen, then seems like you should be good.

Hmmm - The only issue than what has already been described, that I can think of off hand, is the inconvenience of unscrewing 5 hex/allen bolts every time I wanted to get into the storage.

This is where my mind went to first, too - maybe you can find a more practical fastener to use?

Over time dirt and dust is going to get in there and get wet so the bag is going to get dust dirt and mud into the zipper and could make it very hard to open.

Yes, forgot to mention that I plan to use wing bolt/a bolt that has a knob on it so I can open it without any tools. I could also just carry my electric ratchet when I go off-roading; there’s only recovery gear/air compressor in there

Agreed, that’s really my only concern even though the bumper is breaking the wind. I need something secure to tie both duffle bag handles to the thick steel bar connecting the frame. The buckle strap I have right now won’t cut it. The zippers on the bag are super secure so no concerns there, I really have to rig to get them open.

Good point. Rightline makes some strong bags and does a good job at covering the zippers the protect against the elements

that’s the bag. I bought it for the roll bars but I want it out of mind out of sight. When I go camping with passengers I end up using that area for stuffing blankets/pillows.
That area is non-existent storage for me. lol
Plus I removed my backseats anyway. I literally never see or notice mine when the top is on. If I take the top down, I see it more often but not when driving.
Mine hangs forward of the rear-bar cause well...Window in the way.
Only found one windowless picture where you can actually see it. :CWL:

Guaranteed that when you need it your bumper will be under water or deep in mud... Murphy's Law. I think the last thing I would put there is recovery gear. Maybe turn it into an insulated compartment for your beer...
