I believe that a Sahara with all options ticked is about $59k. Crazy

The launch of the JL has been messy. The pricing was very dependent on people's ignorance of value and it worked for some time, but the dates have been messy, it's overproduced, caters to a wider demographic and dealers are selling at barely any profit to get volume sales...the goal was always volume.

Those are just some of the reasons nobody can predict the resale of the JL, but I believe it won't be as favorable as the JK's. But like I said in another thread with another member asking the same resale questions. Who buys cars depending on that they will be worth down the line? Unless you're really stretched on affording this vehicle and want to know the best time to cash out, most buyers (especially loyalists to the brand) do not care of resale. Enjoy the ride like you enjoy your dinners and don't worry too much about what you get at the end, promise you it will be greater than poop.

Because that's a large part of the cost of ownership. I doubt most people hold onto their vehicles till they die. A good deal of people on this forum talk about having traded in their Jks for the JL.

I agree. Resale value is one reason I like Jeeps. I get more of my money back in the end, making actual cost to me much lower. 35k jeep vs 35k other suv, hope is in 8 years when I part with I am getting an extra 7k to 10k on the Jeep over other suv (say jeep 20k over alternative 10k just numbers from my butt). That makes the 35k jeep significantly cheaper than the 35k other suv.

I think that’ll hold true for the JL as well but there’s a lot of options now you can tack on and those depreciate 80% almost instantly ( just like mods ). Stay to a base as much as possible ( sport s, rubi ) and you’ll do fine over that time period.
