When one has this combination, of ESS and E-TORQUE with the 3.6 engine, what happens when one turns off the ESS? Does the e=torque still work, or is it deactivated also? So when the ESS is turned off, will the engine continue to run at a stop light? I am trying to understand how the two interreact.
I have never driven a e-torque equipped Jeep.

The ESS is so seamless with the eTorque that there really isn't a need to ever turn it off, but good question and the comment from @Jimbits78 above is good to know.

If you push the button to disable the ESS on an etorque it will not shut off the engine at the stoplight but the rest will still function normal. The smoother shifts, the regenerative braking, etc all continue ti work.

Thank you Gentlemen!

I live in an area slightly more rural, than urban. I have a Tazer installed which remembers, and maintains the last state you left the Start/Stop button in.
I typically leave Start/Stop disabled in my 3.6L etorque 2dr, but do notice the other benefits it provides, (especially with 4.56 gears). I will say, with SS activated, it's an incredibly smooth engine restart.

I hated the ESS before I got a Jeep with Etorque. Now I leave it on unless I'm in a neighborhood with a lot of stop signs.
