You need to pull codes from your Jeep. There are multiple reasons why ESS will not work. I just went through something similar on my 2021. Turned out the solar sensor was bad. The Jeep has to have a all systems nominal for the ESS to work, not just bad batteries.

Scanner tool says there are no codes. Tried to clear codes anyway and the service stop start light is still on.

The most annoying thing is when the auto park turns on when i shift from P into R or D.

I have narrowed things down to be a problem with the door. If i unplug the door the Service ESS and autopark light do not come on. Does anyone know of a tutorial how to replace the faulty door latch that i am reading about?

Are you sure you do not have a bent terminal in the door wiring harness connector?

I just checked the door pins. All look fine. Even took needle nose pliers and tugged on them to see if any weren't seated correctly.

The door switch lighting works, locks work, exterior handle and interior handle works, mirrors work.

I checked the two hood pressure switches. They both seem operational. I even swapped the tops on them to be sure since I know the pressure switch that shows the hood was left open is working. No change.

@Dr3wDrop

The batteries are hooked up in parallel.... Keep in mind the old adage.... one bad apple spoils the bunch...

With that said do replace both batteries. You can do quite easily yourself and with very good batteries for about $320.00 +- total. Naah, do not just replace the Aux. battery.

And............ no not crazy at all....... those 2018 OEM batteries have / are aging out... are not healthy.. Many 2018 owner's have seen their batteries age out / become unserviceable.

.
LOL amazing these cheap shit batteries lasted 3 years!
