This was one section of the forum I was trying to avoid (at least for posting an issue), I thought I was the lucky one to have an issue free JL. I have a 4-month-old Punk'N JLU Rubicon, 2L with 6800 miles on it and sadly it hasn't left the pavement yet. I took a trip down from Allentown Pa. to Winchester Va. yesterday and last night I traveled down a hill, applied the brakes to make a right turn into a subdivision when I heard a chime and lost power steering. With difficulty, I was able to turn the steering to avoid hitting the sign but when I tried to pull the hill, the engine revved as if it were in neutral. There was a message on the screen that suggested a restart was necessary, Upon restart, I was able to pull the hill and drive a 1/4 mile to my brother's house. The check engine light remained lit but everything else seemed ok. I parked it outside overnight and began reading through the forums. I found where folks suggested to seat the fuses and relays. Because it was raining outside, I decided to pull the Jeep into the garage and when I started it, the chime rang, the charging symbol appeared and I placed it into reverse and it sat still, I put it in park and then reverse and it moved but started running rough then the dash lights flashed on and off, the gauges started moving back and forth, I was able to get the jeep halfway through the door and I decided to restart. When I restarted, the chimes rang again but I was able to back it up and put it neutral, not only did the dash lights continue to flash but the began to rev and I shut it off. At that point, I called a tow truck to take the Jeep to the dealer that I happened to buy it from in Virginia. In preparation, I thought I would push it outside but at this point, I was no longer able to have the jeep start or place into ACC or Run to allow me to move the gear selector from P to N. I found the tether to manually place it in neutral and off it went to the dealer. The service manager told me he would call tomorrow, 5/13/19 and give me an update. Other than that It has been a great vehicle with no hint of issues.

I have had some similar issues. pull up your floor mat and see if your carpet soaked underneath. I have had some water leaks causing shorts in the electrical. A little rain and carpet would get wet but you have to pull mat up to see if you have a leak (also be careful peoples wet feet are not causing wet carpet). a lot of rain and I would get about an inch of water above the floor mat and this is when I would start getting door locks and open sensors going off and dash going crazy. You want to kill a battery? have small electrical shorts from moisture getting into your wiring/fuses and see how quickly it will leave you stranded. also can cause electrical fires too if bad enough.

Dropped off Sunday and now heading into Friday and no resolve! My jeep remains 3 hours away at the dealer. The tech has determined it is an electrical issue, apparently threw over 60 codes, which I gathered by what I experienced and through reading through the forums. Monitoring what progress I am able to through Uconnect, I could tell halfway into the day Monday they had it running again but still throwing codes. Tuesday looked more of the same. Yesterday it shows that the codes are gone but the must still have issues because service called and notified me they are unable to determine the root cause of the issue. It appears to have sat today so maybe ordering parts? I have read where some say the 19 doesn't suffer the same issues but what would have changed and if Jeep knows then why isn't there a bulletin explaining the fix?
