Nah, just simply don’t care for the 350, kinda the same way that some don’t like Wranglers, to each their own.

Definitely not confusing the 350, with the 305, been many, Many, MANY years but my mom had a 305 in a full size Blazer, not positive but I think it was an 80’, that thing Was lamer and more problematic than the Three legged Pug my Wife had when we got married

98% sure it was a 350 in my Dad’s 74 Schittvrolet truck, didn’t impress me much more than the 305.

Lots of things some Like that others don’t, personally I don’t care for 9mm ammo or handguns, but my guess is that we probably disagree on that too😉

But it seems that yer gettin a bunch of exercise jumpin up and down, so yer Welcome 😁

Just having fun talking engines. 9mm is just fine for ammo and handguns too. Carry what ya like, I don’t care?

Had a 305 in an 86 Iroc, LB9 flavor. Tuned port. Not fast, but it was fun!

350’s took a small compression ratio hit in 71, castrated in 72, further beat down until 75, then slowly started creeping back up.

not all handguns are pea shooters 😃

No quick second shot, but it’s not needed 😁

What if the 9mm ammo is double stacked in the magazine? :bandit:
Personally I prefer .45 ACP for personal defense use. I haven’t looked for any recently, but Para-Ordnance did offer Double Stack pistols in .45 ACP, I don’t know but possibly in .40 S&W as well, I would choose either over 9mm, but that’s just me.

If my normal carry choice (Para 5” .45 ACP, LDA) is not practical, then a Colt Mustang Pocketlite, or Kimber Micro, in .380 ACP, is my better than an Empty Hand choice.

The 9mm For Me, ain’t enough when I can carry what I want, and not small enough, when I do need to reduce it to the minimum.

For some, a 9mm, Is the Goldilocks gun, just not for me

Hmm….people who like the 3.6 picked the 3.6 on purpose and the people who preferred a different engine picked a different engine on purpose…

so strange.
i would hope 3.6 owners would pick the 3.6 in a thread titled “what motor does your wrangler have?”

Well, there's 350 SBCs and there's 350 SBCs, just like there's 9mm and there's other 9mm. Some were toads and some were rockets, just in OEM trim, let alone in some of the various builder combinations. That's really the beauty of the SBC, the builder combinations. Today, the younger generations have been restricted so much, that they mostly look at what the OEM performance is. The SBC's legacy is in the aftermarket racing and hot rodding. OEM 305s were an attempt at smaller displacement that went sideways. They were basically smog motors that nobody replicated in the aftermarket or hot rodding. The overall SBC engine, in the hands of hot rodders is legend, just as the 9mm is legend. Is bigger better? It certainly can be. But you can't discount the accomplishments of both the SBC and 9mm. I've seen 472 ci SBC engines. Respect them both, even if you choose others.

I can consistently put 4/5 out of 6 in a milk jug at 50 yards with my model 57 8 3/8’s barrel, but can’t hit the side of the hill with an auto, any auto I’ve had 🤷🏼‍♂️
57 is a 41 mag. IIRC. I think I had one, once upon a time.

Yes- I shoot it better than any other handgun, although my new model *Super Blackhawk with an excellent trigger was a close second, traded it for an old model that’s worth more but I can’t shoot as well. …. Getting older and blinder,
have shotguns 😁

Nah, I’m doin jus Fine without a 350, or 9mm in my Life 😉 Two things that I have other items that fit my needs Better, less than Zero Need or Reason to add them to the clutter in my life, which I am trying to reduce, not increase

As to SBC’s

This one, will be Lovingly Maintained, and Enjoyed, to the Best of my Ability, for as long as I Humanly can.

This one absolutely holds a Special Place in my Heart, but I don’t have a need for another.

Don’t let my lack of enthusiasm for Chevy’s in general, detract from your own.

Personally, I have multiple interests that many others neither share nor understand, it doesn’t stop Me from Enjoying those interests

Ain’t America Great?

Although i have a preference for the 45 acp and 40 S&W to be in my hands if the SHTF and none of my defensive weapons are 9mm, I've had some 9s as well as a number of SBCs. I don't wish to go back and relive those days of the SBCs, but they stood out as good engines at the time. The 9mm, I'm finding new enjoyment with, much like the 22LR. Sometimes less is more. But that's a level of appreciation often not absorbed until you realize there's more to guns than their killing power and more to engines than sheer horsepower.

Less is more, that’s what made the old 1971 down engines simple, easy to work on, able to install in whatever they would fit. Just add fuel and DC power. No mass of wires, sensors, computers, that all have to work together and properly or issues, limp mode, shut down.

I maintained, and sometimes built everything from a Willys Go Devil to Blown SB & BB Chevys….
I have an appointment tomorrow for some reprogramming. ….. Tech Phobic idgit makes a mess of it so often I paid for the ported TB-intake manifold install that would need some kind of programming/re-learn. This old guy is Obsolete and pays others now.

my 69 302 was built with all performance parts to achieve ~ the same HP as that new 2.7L at less mpg, but I could build, tune, and maintain it…. Progress ?
