The Pentastar 3.6 and the newer PUG 3.6 are not known for using/burning engine oil. The PUG 3.6, only hold 5 quarts, verses original 3.6, which hold 6 quarts. So it's not the best ideal to run it low on oil.
I check my engine oil and coolant level, every time I fill up with gas. As for your oil usage, no...that is not normal. I have both the 3.6 and the PUG 3.6, and the oil levels never get below the dipstick full mark.
As already asked, when you changed your oil, are you sure that you put 5 quarts in it? What Brand of engine oil, and what viscosity are you using?
Mobil 1 full synthetic extended formula 0-20. . Yes, it was 5 quarts.

Oil consumption can come from the valve guides or the piston rings. Assuming your guides are not worn out and the seals are still in place, the rings become the more likely suspect. Besides, you can't do anything about the guides without mechanical work, but you might be able to help the piston rings.

How many miles are on the engine? What type of oil has been used in it?

Try Valvoline Restore & Protect 5w-30 for a few oil changes given your mileage. You should see reduced consumption if your oil control rings have a lot of varnish buildup on them. This will let them better float along the cylinder walls, better scraping oil off the cylinder walls.

After a few changes there, if you still have considerable consumption but an improvement, you might try the Valvoline Extended Protection High Mileage to see if there’s even more improvement to be had if it’s the valve guide seals.

I was headed toward recommending Valvoline Restore & Protect, same as @Odyssey USA . Modern engines have low tension rings and they can get stuck more easily than old engines.

To be honest, I haven't had excessive oil consumption since switching to a heavier oil.
