Try jacking front end up, or what I did drive up on a big rock, and run heater, see if that burps some air, my JK 3.6 was hard to bleed.

No; this is not normal at all.Bought a Mopar thermostat and I believe it really comes down to gearing. quick calculation so I'm running 5.1 or so on Gears and it looks like it should be a 4.58 for highway speeds with 35 inch tires. I'm going to look at it and see if it was recalibrated when the previous owner re-geared and put the tires on. I've reached out to J scan see what equipment they have I could plug in and find out.
