Is there a way to permanently disable having the engine turn off at stoplights? There is the button to temporarily do it, but it turns back on every time the Jeep is turned off. It's driving me crazy...

Is there a 3rd party flashpaq programmer that will do it?

Check out "Jeep Informant" over on YouTube. He goes into a couple of way to do it by disconnecting things under the hood and how to use the Tazer JL tool to do it (and a few more things that might be useful).

Only one programmer can disable ESS on the JL/JLU. The company, offering this product is a forum sponsor.

For many thread regarding this programmer, click here:

Put a trailer hitch "BRAKELIGHT" on your trailer hitch(plug into 4-pin conn)

The ECU thinks you're towing a trailer and that disables the ESS-

    Good luck

    Whatever

Open your hood, at the front drivers side there are 2 hood switches - disconnect the switch closest to the driver side fender (far right when looking at front of Jeep). You will get the warning on start up and the ESS disable light above the fuel gage. ESS is off. No need to buy anything if you are just looking to disable this feature right now.

Just keep it simple and push the off button when you start it. Keep trying to find a silly way to VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

Figure somebody here could start a business here. Buy a programmer and charge a fee for mailing it out and user paying return postage. I might be a player if somebody did it.
