Hard to tell... the fan never gets up to high unless I'm on a trail. It doesn't vibrate at normal speeds. Will do a visual on the fan to see if it's mucked up but that's the only thing I can figure. Took 20 mins with a high pressure washer to get all the mud off the outside (the picture doesn't really do it justice). My first thought actually was mud or dirt caked on there. It used to happen to me all the time in my TJ. It wouldn’t take much to throw off the balance of the fan given how fast they spin. Did the vibrating go away after a clean or is it still there?
There is a flash update via TSB that drastically quiets the fan down. No longer sounds like an F-15. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ing-fan-fix-tsb-18-041-18-rev-b-oct-16.17302/When running some trails this weekend I was getting a distinct vibration when the engine fan would kick into "afterburner" mode (you know, where it sounds like an F-15 taking off). The vibration was very noticeable in the steering wheel, at first wondering what was wrong. Possibly related to some mud we went through but I doubt it. Does anyone else feel similar when the engine fan is at high speed?![]()
