electronic parking brake conversion?

has anyone done this? I found one company that lists a bracket to use grand Cherokee calipers. doing research, I am having a hard time finding the parts. the price seems a little expensive to me. kit plus all the parts is low-end 1k would it be worth it? I think it would for those of us with the manual trans as we all know the factory drum in hat system is piss poor for long term without constant maintenance.

Aside from avoiding maintenance what’s the driver behind this? Might be a cool project. My wife and daughters all have electric parking brakes in their Ford’s (Bronco. Bronco Sport and Escape) and they work fine.

I guess no one is teaching to use parking brake in case primary braking system fail anymore. Oups I forgot electric do not work if your wheels are spinning.

Its designed for hot rods. Not really enough clamping force on a jeep.

Being a stick and the poor design of the oe system. I'm looking for a system that works with less time consuming maitnance. My jk sucked after a few years. And the jl system is almost identical. I'm at 26k now and seeing that I need to address it soon as it's starting to feel iffy. And my wife not used to manual so I don't want it rolling away when she has it.

I never really had an issue with the stock setup. I changed because the tons would not lock down.

I will say that the electric e brakes will stop he from driving through them too if she forgets to unlock them.

Yes, It mechanically locks the piston that pushes the pad in. You can actually feel it pull the pedal down when you turn the brake on because of this.
