Yes, It mechanically locks the piston that pushes the pad in. You can actually feel it pull the pedal down when you turn the brake on because of this.

Interesting, I guess easier to not integrate it as the OEM do and not getting this limitation.

Indeed you got a point there, locking the wheels, I guess this is why OEM do not allow this to happen as the system have no notion of when locking the wheels can be dangerous and when it is not.

Also thinking this would be a great way to deter theft with a optional hidden switch if one would so desire.
