I had a popping sound coming from passenger seat when someone was riding in it. Well I checked the seat myself and found while sitting and rocking side to side the noise showed itself. My dealer replaced the bottom frame and that fixed the issue. Since I have replaced the fabric with leather and I am very pleased with the look. Hope this helps you!

Perhaps test drive a new Jeep with a passenger and if no noise is present ask them to swap out seat...yea right...

Got the Jeep back yesterday morning. First time I had a passenger in it was this morning. THE NOISE IS BACK!!!! This is unbelievable. I called the dealer I purchased the Jeep from (40 minutes from my house, 70 minutes from my work) and asked if they could take over the issue and find a solution. They informed me that Chrysler would NOT pay another dealer to try and remedy an "open warranty issue" that was started by another dealer!! What kind of customer service is that?!?!? I have a call in to the JOKERS at the place where I brought it to be fixed (1 mile from my work) to see what they say. I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS!!!
Hi giffordt,
I see that we have spoken to you previously about this concern but we thought we'd reach out again to see if you would like some assistance for the next time you return to the dealer. We understand your frustration as it is very inconvenience to have to return to your dealer multiple times for the same concerns. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us via private message.

I have the same popping and was trying to track down the origin myself. What I noticed is when the seat height is pumped all the way up to its highest setting the seat doesn't pop. While it was up I added some grease to the little gear that cranks the seat up and that seemed to help some although I'm not sure yet if that totally resolved the issue. The noise is definitely related to the height adjustment mechanism in my case.
Hello rayzjeep,

If you end up going into the dealer, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to help with the servicing process.

Lydia, besides this popping sound being a minor annoyance, could you elaborate if this is a safety concern?

Thx

Hi Gene,
I understand your concern. Unfortunately, I cannot determine if this is a safety concern since I am not a trained technician. We rely heavily on the determinations made by the dealers once a proper inspection is performed. If you are experiencing this, we suggest informing your dealer in order to have this looked into. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Wouldn't necessarily help. Ours was quiet for the first 2-3 months. Now it 'knocks' with every bump, turn, or dust bunny encountered (only when occupied). Off-roading is out of the question until fixed... tried it once and nearly drove me insane with the constant knocking of the passenger seat.

Are you planning on taking it into the dealer? Curious if the seat track replacement fixes your issue as it did others. Have you tried pumping up the seat height to the max position and see if it still pops? Mine stopped after doing that so I think it must be related somehow.

My part was delayed as it was supposed to come in today. However, my dad taught me best. "The key to happiness, is low expectations". Dealer didn't respond yet with new estimated date.

I tried full lumbar and no lumbar. I'll do the full pump and report back.

I haven't used the top in a few weeks so I don't hear the popping however I do want to know if it's a safety issue.

I had it at the dealer but they "could not duplicate" ... which I believe is code for "LOL... ain't no WAY we're gonna fix THAT!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha..." (or something like that). Or possibly the tech was deaf. Don't know how you could miss it.

Passenger seat does not have a height adjustment (or at least mine doesn't)

Don't really see it as a safety issue... just crappy quality control. But I could be wrong (happens every once in a while. Ok. Maybe more frequently than once in a while)

Ok at full pump no popping but my head hits the roof :). It takes 6 down pump to start feeling movement and ever so slight noise and with each down pump its gets louder and more movement.

Yep....mine does the same. @JeepCares FCA needs to take this info and get that TSB going. I'm taking mine to the dealer on Tuesday for unrelated issues (delivered with chip in hard top and scratches in leather) and I'm going to mention this to them and see what they say. They'll probably just want to replace the seat track when it's more related to the seat raising mechanism.

Well 2 of 4 issues fixed and the seat part is supposed to be delivered tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath as it been almost 2 months and they say a date and the part never shows. How can they say "the 6th" without even shipping the part seems like they just guess. Aww well I have a white grill again and the electronic sway bar causing the BUS to freak out has been replaced. TPMS senor they could not replicate

5th move to June 11th arrival now. How long can Jeep push out the deliver of the part? I guess until I give up? Why do they even put an arrival date if they have no idea?
