Hi all,

Not sure if this was the best place to post this or not, but was wondering if any one else has experienced some water dripping from their exhaust pipes? I know there’s a few “weep holes” in certain spots in the exhaust, but none seem to be where I’m seeing water dripping from.

I noticed it for the first time today, and it’s about 27 degrees Fahrenheit out today, not sure if that has anything to do with what I’m seeing.

I’ve uploaded a few photos to show what I’m seeing. Any advice or idea on if this is normal?

Thanks!

Cats convert exhaust gas into water vapor, it should only do it on start up till it gets nice and hot under there. Its normal

I think it is normal, but more noticeable in a Jeep due to the high ground clearance.
If the same thing happened in a Civic or something you would never see it.

ALL vehicles have water"condensation" coming out of the exhaust. Most if not ALL OEM mufflers even have a hole in them to shed the water. Honestly you never follow a vehicle in the fall or winter when it's cold and NOT see this?

Condensation naturally happens on the higher temperature side of a barrier between hot and cold. You're seeing the same thing with your exhaust, that happens on the outside of a cold beverage on a warmer day. This moisture is being rendered out of a combination of both the air that the engine is breathing and a natural byproduct of petroleum products.
