The Jeep Wrangler is an impractical vehicle, even more so with the top & doors off.
That won't stop me from doing it every chance I get. I just don't wear a hat (Jtop sunshade helps) and I wear tighter fitting sunglass, when I do.

No. Doors off is perfectly rational and sensible, as I try to explain to my wife all of the time.

I had to one-door it the other day because according to her, putting a two year old in a car seat with no door is “irresponsible” and “unsafe”. Hrmph.

my grandfather had to quit school in the 3rd grade and go to work in an underground coal mine. He got a break from that when he was drafted into WW2. he never mentioned anything at all about the wind during the war when riding in his jeep.

My daughter says it tangles up her ponytail when she rides in my jeep with the top down. different world we live in now.

This thread is about the dumbest thing I have seen all day. The OP has to be trolling.

I remember my hair tangling pretty badly when driving our JK without the tops and doors. I drive a Miata with the top down nearly all the time and notice that my hair would get much more tangled in the Jeep. It is a frustrating hassle to de-tangle. I found that putting the pony tail in a braid makes a huge difference. Maybe it will help her.

First Jeep, had it since November. I was looking forward to stripping it down and doing as much top-down, doors off driving as possible in the nicer months, bought some mirrors and am ready to go. I've had the doors off twice now and the problem is the wind effects. I basically can't go anywhere from my house without getting on roads that you'd typically drive 50+ MPH. So of course I expected some 'wind in your hair' type stuff, but first time out, the wind got so bad it felt like my hat was going to blow off. So OK, I thought I wore the wrong hat, need a tighter hat. I have one so I'll wear that one. Next time out, with the tighter hat, wind felt like it would blow that one off too, and even it was so bad it felt like my eye-glasses were going to blow too. So I'm driving down the road, sitting on my hat holding my eyeglasses with one hand, steering with the other, manual transmission - that's a no go. To be fair, they both were somewhat windy days, but still. So is that how it goes, you really can't do those speeds without the doors? Or was it just bad weather for it, keep trying? Thanks for your advice.
I have yet to take top off and doors but I was wondering this too. Never been a fan of convertibles. And never drive with open windows because wind and Curly hair does not pair well.
It’ll be interesting...

You're missing out. It is a blast to drive topless with the doors off in nice weather.

I did a short 70mph run on the interstate just to try it out. I didn't think it was that bad. Maybe my hearing is trashed already.

The wind is really terrible in my 2-door IF the rear hardtop is on. Once that's off the wind is waaaayyyyyy better. I cannot even have the windows down with the rear hardtop on. Been in plenty of convertibles 150+MPH too and nowhere near the same going 60MPH in the Wrangler lol.

I definitely will. Today it finally warmed up.
