The other day I wrote of this problem assigning it, possibly incorrectly, to aftermarket Proximity locks--so I'll try again.

I have my JL Sahara configured that one press of the door open on the fob only opens the driver's side door. I like it this way for security.

Once I open that unlocked driver's door, if I press the unlock button on the interior of the door (not the fob) all doors lock. If I press the fob button again it does work correctly to open all doors.

Sure--I could just press the unlock button on the fob twice to open all doors or reconfigure a single button press of the open door button on the fob to open all doors but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it.

TIA

Not normal behavior. It shouldn’t work that way even without proximity entry. As you know, the remaining doors should unlock when the interior unlock button is pressed. I’d venture a guess that something with your add-on proximity setup is causing it.

Retired and loving it!
How did you program the FOB to only open the driver door with one press and the other doors with two? I have a '23 2-door JL.

Does the unlock function work fine once the ignition is turned on?

With some systems, when set to single click to unlock just the driver’s door, the rest cannot be unlocked until the ignition is energized.

It’s an additional security feature that restricts unlocks solely to the intentions of the FOB holder.

On some units, this feature can be disabled by turning the child locks off.

Will try and report back.

I'm going to check the door harness today thinking that maybe a bent pin is causing either the inside door lock and unlock electric button to have lock functionality...

Not so with the JL Wrangler.

Not so with the JL Wrangler.
He added aftermarket gear and the problem surfaced mate.

You have no clue how his mod interacts with his Jeep’s modules by design or unintentionally and it’ll take OP less time to verify than it took you to tell him not to.

The "aftermarket" gear isn't really "aftermarket". He added the OEM proximity handles and enabled them via JScan, so everything should be working just as it does on every other Jeep with proximity handles.

Yes, yes, yes but everything is NOT working as it does for every other Jeep with unnamed aftermarket proximity handles. That’s why OP started this thread. Do you have anything to offer him or is “don’t try anything” all you got?

I've already given info in his other thread on this, I'm simply clarifying that this isn't some unknown add-on that got wired in. It's an OEM, essentially plug-and-play, upgrade. Not an "unnamed aftermarket handle".

I've done the same upgrade on one of my Jeeps and it works exactly as it should, no different than on my other Jeep that came from the factory that way. He's likely either got a programming issue or a bent pin.

Vince:

I don't know if the problem always existed or manifested itself after the introduction of the proximity hardware installation and reprogramming of the vehicle, (now via the JL Tazer as opposed originally to the Jscan tool,) informing the vehicle of the presence of proximity locks.

My interior door unlock button has "personality issues."

Set the vehicle to only unlock the driver's door, (either by pressing the fob once or grabbing the driver's side door proximity handle,) and that driver's door will open, but then pressing the unlock button on the interior of the driver's door relocks all locks.

...cycle the vehicle on and off with no foot on the brake and the unlock button on the driver's door then works correctly..

odd...likely not wiring but something in the programming....

The passenger's front door works as it should.....

Maybe, although I may not truly realize it, I am merely restating Vince's thoughts abobve here:
