I have a new door net replacement idea. How about, trampoline material. It's very strong and won't sag.

If anyone wants to run with this to bulbhead.com feel free. ;)
Someone did something similar here on the forum -- maybe with hurricane/snow fencing?
I was trying to find the post. I had considered doing the same, but must have deleted the bookmark when I went another direction.

Found it: @Hickory Redwood used chicken nets

Just a data point of one, but: I wouldn't consider any aftermarket door pockets that allow the retention of the OEM door nets. The latter's continued presence looks like an absolute bodge with a second door pocket now stuck on top.

More to the point, the retained nets would intrude (by necessity) on the already narrow working space between the new door pockets and the seats. Having to recurringly and carefully insert and remove items in the new pockets, due to the constant interference of the nets, is a firm deal-breaker.

While removing the door panels and then the nets is of course additional work, that pales in comparison to the effort required to install even a simple spacer lift...meaning, it's a bit odd to see door panel removal mentioned as a concern by this community.

The owner isn't prevented from simply cutting the nets off from the front, either. Done. 👍
absolutely agreed - the nets will go no matter what!

So I've been scrolling through here, and maybe I missed it, but are any of these door pockets compatible with power seats?

I'm in no real hurry for door pocket replacements. It would be greatly appreciated to get some feedback from you after you get them installed.
No chance to install yet, but they did come in this weekend. Here's a pic of the front/back with instructions.

They sure do look good. They look a little taller than the photos on Amazon but that's fine. I'm definitely looking forward to your install! 😃

The problem I'm seeing, any part of an aftermarket door pocket that protrudes could potentially be a problem with manual, power seats, or your leg. I'm targeting soft, material door pockets. I haven't read any negative reviews of them interfering.

Agree 100%. I find it odd that most of the offerings on Amazon show installation of new door pockets over the OEM nets. Not only does this look terrible, but I'm sure it would impede the utility of the new pockets as well. As such, I'm wondering if these new pockets actually require the old nets to be installed, or perhaps just the wire retainer that holds the nets in the door. If this is true, then they are a poor design IMHO. However, if the old nets (with wire retainers) can be removed, then many of the Amazon pockets might be OK.

If this is the case, I don't know why anyone would keep the old nets installed or only cut the exposed netting material. It's actually easier and more thorough to just pull the entire assembly out, retainer and all. Has anyone done this with these replacement pockets?

I agree, regardless of what I end up with, I'm ripping the nets out. From what I'm seeing that's not a problem and doesn't require removing the door panel. It's basically a wire tucked in there. A lot of the door pockets that don't interfere with the manual or power seats still end up hitting the seat when the seat is moved all the way forward. That's not a problem for everyone but it is for me as my wife needs the seat almost all the way forward.

Edit: Removing the door nets video. The new door pockets look great.

Do you have a good link on easily removing the net?

I just put in an order in a set of custom molle panel replacements. Should hopefully get them in a few weeks and I'll be cutting out those nets as well.

I have soft pockets which hide the oem nets completely. I left the nets because they weren't really sagging yet, and when it's time for the Jeep to go to a new owner, I'll probably pull the replacements to keep or sell separately

I know I've seen better videos on how to do it, but this is the best thing I can find at the moment. Net removal starts at 2:11:

I think the guy makes it look harder than it really is, but you get the idea. Would love to see a better video if someone can find one.

Thanks for posting the video. Although I haven't removed my nets yet, it seems like it would be easier to just pull up from the center of the elastic band, thus bending the wire at it's weakest point. This should allow for easier removal at the wire's attachment points on either end. Can anyone validate this with actual experience?
