I got a set of Unofficial Use Only OEM Plus Door Pockets (see here: unofficialuseonly.com) (they were sent to me for free for a review on my YouTube channel FYI) and decided to put them to the test! I figure that if they are going to make a plastic pocket and call it OEM quality that it should be able to hold up to some abuse. I put some scrap steel in a bucket and hung it off the edge of the pocket. The front door held 35.1 lbs before I was worried that my clamp would come off the edge due to it bowing out so far. After I removed the weight the pocket went right back to its original location and had no permanent deformation! I could have added more weight! The rear door held 41.2 lbs because that is all that I could fit in my bucket. It also went right back to normal but with the connection points in the corners being a bit looser than before testing. I am beyond impressed with the durability of this US made product! I shared my results with UUO and they gave me a 25% off promo code that I can share with anyone who can send me a photo of them testing their aftermarket door pockets in this way. Lets start a leader board of the aftermarket door pockets! Which brand can hold the most?

So my wife and I both have 2024’s with power seats. I wanted to see if the DV8 pockets would actually work, they do but they touch the controls. I got them on sale so I decided instead of returning them I’d do an experiment and ”improve” them. I cut out the section that messes with the seat controls so nothing touches them and they have full travel. I put them on the doors and kept the netting in instead of removing it. The netting pockets can actually still be used but now have support and only have to use them in the section that was cut out for small things anyway. I might get some bungee cord and weave a section that I removed but the nets work just fine there.

I believe with manual seats you won’t have to cut them at all, just have to open the door to adjust your seat if I read their info correct. They are a little tough to get them in the bottom part of the door because there are two little tabs that keep the net from coming out so you have to really work them in. Once they’re in they are solid.

I keep getting the lace hooks on my boots caught on these damn things. I nearly twisted an ankle once.
How I messed up my driver door netting...super aggravating. Both door nets looked flawless until that point. Unfortunately my niece rode in the back once and stuffed a bunch of crap into the passenger side seat back net without me noticing until it was too late...FFS.

Those nets aren't useful at all and just for looks as far as I'm concerned because they are such cheap material as to be practically useless.

They're so aggravating. Having nets too tight just for the look would probably be better -- at least they wouldn't become an eyesore and almost dangerous like the stretched-out nets do.

Fwiw, I'm loving my replacement choice. The pouches have also been doing well as protection for the wiring harnesses when I go doorless :)

I ended up removing the nets as I couldn't get the pockets to go down inside the trim. They look good and are functional for me. No leg rubbing when shifting gears or anything.

I got an aftermarket one intended for the JK on my driver's door only. Mostly I used it to throw trash, mostly receipts and such. I usually empty it out every couple days.

No other doors in the vehicle have their nets. I remove them all. I mean if I ever get a passenger, and they need somewhere to put something, they better have some pockets in them pants!!!

Just this morning, I finally got fed up and pulled them out. They literally just pulled out of the trim. It’s an under wire with an elastic band at the top. Looks way better than the sagging nets.

While I was at it, I had an idea. I tried replacing them with the plastic chicken pen nets and 1/4 inch elastic run along the outside. Then using a screwdriver, pushed the cord into the molding on the door. Came out ok. I’ll see how long it lasts.

Anyway it was a cheap solution with stuff I had laying around. However, even just having them off looked good enough for me.
Been wondering about doing the same thing, since I rarely use the nets and can't justify paying over $300 for a mere door pocket. Just curious though...when you pulled the OEM net out, did you pull it up and out or perpendicular to the door? Just want to do it neatly without damaging the rest of the trim.

Hey sorry for the late reply. Yea I pretty much pulled straight up. You will feel the metal rod holding the bottom of the net give way and the net will come out. I really like the replacement door pockets though. I’ve had them on for a couple years now and they look pretty much like new. Way more functional than the nets.

Not late at all! Really appreciate the quick and informative reply. I always love to see simple solutions to the numerous "Jeep things" we have to contend with, and I like what you created. I'll see if I really miss the nets once they're gone, and if so, I'll probably "borrow" your idea. Thanks again and happy Jeepin'!
