This may be the wrong thread and i apologize, but does the soft top back window in the JL roll up? Would you want to take out the cross bar from the window before rolling it up? Curious the best way to roll it up (if its possible). There were two straps in the bag with the took kit, are those for the back window? Thanks in Advance.

Mine does not, and you’ll want to store it flat, bending it warps the window

That seems crazy you cant just roll it up, its a hassle when you want to load and unload stuff. And yea, i laid mine flat in the back under a tarp and it still has some creases and indentations in it, you gotta be super careful with them apparently. I expected it to be a little more rugged i guess.

Literally I said to my wife yesterday “you think being a Jeep they would’ve built some of these things a little more rugged”
My back window isn’t very nice anymore and all I did was set it down to install the side windows and it barely bent over. Pretty annoyed

Ugh, mines new so ill be careful and baby it for a little while. But eventually that'll wear off and ill toss it around a little and its going to suck having the windows look crinkled and like crap.

i generally just undo the sides and throw the back window on top of the soft top for loading/unloading.

So what are the black straps for then - if not for rolling up the back window? Anyone know?

I've read that they just left those straps as standard because in previous models with the zipper you could roll up the back window but with JL not having a zipper and having the stiffer edge that snaps in you cant roll it up. So the straps are useless.

Yup, I read the same and tossed the straps. There's no way I am rolling up my back window. I saw a thread where a guy said he's done it, but I can't imagine that it wouldn't damage the rigid edges that need to slide into the channels.

All of that said, it is very quick and easy to pop the bottom and sides off so that you can lift the window out of the way (like kinda fold it onto the roof) if you need to load/unload something. Personally, right now my windows are either off and stored in my basement or on. When (if??) my soft top window storage bag ever arrives I hope to keep the windows with me in the Jeep at all times.

I have been rolling the back window lately. Its not too bad, a little hard to get started, the bottom pieces are hard to get into "roll form". I have rolled it both ways. rolling towards you is easier but will hang lower, rolling it away from you, towards the inside of the Jeep, you can get the final roll closer to the top. I like it as then when I pull the side windows they can lay in the trunk area better. I hate that the back window with the bottom bar cannot lay flat in the trunk area without putting down a seat.
