I'm looking to get a tablet mount for the back upper roll bar to watch movies on. I want to mount to the bar behind the rear seats of the JLU. On my trips I sleep in the back of my Jeep with head behind the passenger seat. I like to wind down at the end of the night with a movie or something and I've been jamming my phone between the roll bar and the top. I just got a tablet and I'd much rather use that instead of my phone. I've been looking at using a ball mount and some zip ties or something to attach the ball to the roll bar and then get some cheap tablet mount on Amazon. Is there a better way to do something like this? I saw the vector offroad track mount which looks perfect, but it's for the cross bar above the driver / passenger and not the rear seats. The tablet would only be mounted there at night at camp and no other time. Any tips or products you could recommend?

Yeah I came across that in my research and it looks great but the problem is that it's on the wrong cross bar for me. I'm looking to mount to the back bar that's above / behind the rear seats. The one you guys have would effectively be directly over my head with my bed setup.
Ohhhh, you're sleepin' backwards. Thay's the problem. 😁

You could mount one of our cage packs off the roll cage in the back, where our shelves mount from. Drill a hole through the cage pack, and mount one of our 20mm balls off the cage pack. Then use our tablet mount to mount your device.

Yeah that could work. I'll keep that as one of my options. Thanks!

Why not just get some velcro?

I would recommend THIS stuff.

Super heavy duty and you can take it on and off a few hundred times before it ends up wearing out. Unlike the hook style velcro, which will start to wear out after a few dozen uses.

Best part is, at $16 for four pieces, you have a few thousand uses there. And if you're going to be sleeping a couple nights in a row, you can just leave it there, this stuff is heavy-duty enough that it will hold it all day long.

Or I guess you can spend a couple hundred dollars on amount that you're going to have to modify anyways to make it work. 🤷‍♂️
