Rear Roll Bar Tablet Mount

I've been prepping for some camping trips and looking for a tablet mount that would go on the rear rollbar so we could watch a tablet movie while sleeping on the mats in the back of the Jeep.

I wanted something that was non-intrusive, removable, and positionable. Not finding anything I liked, I pieced together a few ideas and came up with this:

This uses a quick clamp that goes around the rollbar, 20mm ball mount, Bulletpoint adjustable arm, and tablet holder. Bill of materials below:

• Rubber clamp mount - $12 - Link
• 20 mm ball mount - $10 - Link
• Bulletpoint dual locking arm - $27 - Link
• Spring loaded tablet holder - $30 - Link

Overall, it works fairly well. The clamp around the bar is tight and secure. I might consider upgrading to larger ball mounts as these can rotate a bit from the torque of the tablet and arm being far out. I was able to position it and tighten it such that it holds, but that part could be better.

Thought I'd share here in case anyone else wants to copy.

That might be adaptable for a magnetic microphone mount. Especially in a vehicle that doesn't go out with a group that much.

Yup, there's just a hole in the rubber mount so you could adapt anything you like onto it.

Tried this out this weekend and was very pleased with the results. I did get a shorter 3" arm which resolved the torque on the ball mount and held an Amazon 10" tablet in place securely for a movie.
