mounted my hi-lift on the roll cage. It looks great and also out of the way.

One problem, when go over big rough bumps, the lift move a little (all hardware are tight) which making loud banging sound. Since the lift mounted on roll cage, I can hear it really well like if the lift is right behind my head.

Anyone with solution besides remove hi-lift our of the Jeep?

My only thought is that it is the internal workings of the lift and you will have to find and isolate/dampen those spots. Rags, wire ties, etc will need to be added as necessary until the banging stops.

It looks like you’ve already zip tied some things. Did that help much? I almost ordered this lift mount today. I’m curious as to how annoying the sound is.

Looks great. Who makes this mount? Looks like a 2-door?

I have he same mount. Heres what i did to make mine quiet. I put tape a round the base and stuck it back in. Wrapped tape around the handle base and put it back in. I put o-rings between the handle mechanism arm and the top mechanism i wedged with a piece of metal i can pull in and out as needed and the lower mechanism i put tapered roll pins in from the bottom so when I have to use it they will just fall out as i ratchet it up. It does not make a sound now but it took some trial and error. Hope this helps a little oh also i stuck an oring on the mount post its self to where the base of the jack sits on the mount.

I believe the noise I heard was the base of lift hitting the bolt or pin. With the nut secured ( I added couple lock washers to filled up the taper part) it’s nice and quite. Except when hitting big bumps.

Yes. It help a lot. Especially the pin secured the base of the lift. It rattles so much. I zip ties over the pin and no more noise.

It’s 4 doors. I got it from https://www.jeepswag.com/shop/shop/jeep-jk-hi-lift-jack-mount/best-jeep-jl-hi-lift-jack-mount-kit/

I appreciate the suggestion. I have mine pretty quite except when going over big bumps. I will see about implementing some of your ideas.

I have the same set up. It took 5 bungee cords at different places to quite the darn thing.

First I put a neoprene boot on the jack mechanism. Then I put on 3-4 bungees to put tension on everything. Pretty happy with the entire setup.

I've found that as you get older, the noise and rattles disappear... Especially if they are the same frequency as your wife's voice...

Eh? What did you say?

Mine rattled pretty bad. Went to home depot got a roll of velcro and a bungee and problem solved. Doesn't rattle whatsoever any longer. Hopefully, these pictures will help.

I have little to no rattle since install. No complaints after the past couple weekends of driving dirt roads and 4x4 trails (200+ miles). I already forget its even there. I'm guessing this has more to do with the jack itself than the mount. Neoprene sieve seems like the best option some have suggested elsewhere.
