Does block heater need to be installed by Jeep?

Canadian here - Stelantis, in their infinite wisdom, decided not to install block heaters on their Jeeps up here anymore. Jeep is quoting me $1k to put on in. I’m wanting to get the parts and have my local stop out it in but concerned that there’s just enough work being done that Jeep could use it as an excuse for denying a warranty claim down the road. Jeep is saying it’s 4 hours of work because they have to take the AC unit off and move stuff around to get at the frost plug needed.

What’s your thoughts?

Can’t believe it’s $1k. Why the hell didn’t Jeep just put it in at the factory?! It would have cost $20.

If it’s the same as the JK 3.6, it does seem like It would take time and a proper set of tools if you can’t do it yourself.
