I've been very happy with that little V6. Got the same in the JL and when I grab the next Jeep, assuming it's still an option, I'll be looking for it again.
Easy tiger. A lot of emotion over an analogy. Dropping you’re an engineer and the all caps words along with the condescending comments really makes you convincing.
That’s my concern with all the hybrid, turbo or eventually EVs. How long are all these vehicles going to last? Seems to me they’re making them more and more complicated so that they crap out in 5 or 6 years, just like everything else in our lives (appliances to cordless drills).
I’ve got 120k on my 2019 JL and not one problem other than regular maintenance. Took my 2012 JK to 205k and all I had to replace was my alternator. So far, the JL is acting just like the JK.
Really? That sucks. So it’s just their cruddy panels then. So we should all be getting rid of our rigs when they approach the end of the paint warranty period.
Got a couple of quotes back from an autobody shop:
$2k to repair the doors, but no guarantee it won't come back
$4k for new panels
Got to love Jeep for such shitty build quality that a guy has to be looking at this at year 4.
Take your point but I spent a lot of time sifting through a lot of these threads but everyone is just “take it to Jeep and get it warrantied”. I want to know about those that have actually tried a repair. If you have threads you can point me to, I’d appreciate it.
2nd that wish. But Jeep ain’t gonna play that way. They keep selling out all their productions runs so they’ll keep jacking the price and reducing the options. Wish I didn’t like them so much.
Go over it with a fine toothed comb and get down to the dealer if you spot anything. At least in the US you have unlimited miles and 5 years coverage on the paint. Jeep has been really good to work with on everything up until I went over the miles limit (I’m in Canada. 5 years or 100,000 miles...
