I've been thinking about putting an engine block heater myself in my EcoDiesel. Not that I need it too much, but for sure in January February when it's down in the '30s and '40s here in North Texas, it'll make me have to idle it for less time.

I'm sure you can find a plethora of YouTube videos about it. I do know for sure that the section where you stick the pipe into in the engine is already there, so you just need to go buy the part from Mopar and then rig up yourself, or I guess you could pay someone to do it too. If I remember right, the heater core and plug is only like $80 USD ($110 CAD).

I feel like Amazon would be the place to buy something like that. Are you so far north that Amazon won't do next day delivery?

Here's your part number: 68357707AD

Best of luck, keep us updated, I'd be curious to see how your install goes if you do it yourself? ?

Your Diesel should have the heater element already in it. You just need to buy the cable and plug it in. I did it with mine, very easy install. It was a little hard to reach it but other than that, simple.

If you bought it in Canada, it has one. Did you look in engine bay?

Hi Tredsdert,
Thanks for info. Can you help me to locate the section for the pipe ?

I'm going to refer to @CJ SCION for this one. So my understanding is it's a lot more complicated than I thought it was.
If there is a vendor who has a set for your year and model listed for sale, cool beans. After going my cheap, penny pinching way made it an ordeal, today I would go to the dealer directly for the matched set. Oddly enough the parts guy at the dealer said a customer came from across the street (GM dealership) and he matched that customer to a Mopar cord that worked for the element they already had.

Yes i did but no there is none
If the block heater is truly absent and you can't get one installed straightaway, there are some expedient and non-permanent heaters that attach to the vehicle's oil pan. Just an FYI.

I've the OEM block heater in my Jeep (also a 2.0T). The cord is adjacent to the battery.

Jeep Wrangler JL BLOCK HEATER acronyms-deciphering-acronyms

Why not just type it out? It probably takes just as long to activate cap locks and type out the initials as it would to type out the whole phrase. That way confused old dudes like me, who aren't down with these youngions ways, aren't reading through posts like...

I AM an old dude. I also know how to highlight, right click and hit "search with google" As far as I know, that's the easiest method to find out what AFAIK means. ;)

Lmao. I did almost 30 years in the army, acronyms are literally my superpower.

Also, I'm Canadian so that blows your theory out of the water. ;)

Cheers my friend.
I love your country, it's so beautiful! Though I could do with more summer and less winters, but regardless it still a gorgeous country!

Banff is my favorite place to visit!! The chateau at lake Louise, I wish I could retire there!!

Understandable, pretty much all my favorite people are military guys. They tend to have the best level of respect and always a great sense of humor. ?
