I've ordered a 2021 with the Mopar tailgate reinforcement as a factory option. For 35s, I know that I'll need the spare relocation bracket ( https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/oversize-spare-tire-carrier-jeep-wrangler-jl ) to clear the bumper sensors. Do I need the taillight relocation ( https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/chmsl-relocation-kit-jeep-wrangler-jl ), or will the light clear the 35s without any help?

The description says that I need it for 35s, but I've heard that they will fit. Please tell me that I don't need yet another adapter.

Following up on this question that was never answered in the forum. Does anyone know if the CHMSL relocation kit is actually necessary for 35" tires when using the tailgate reinforcement and oversized spare tire mounting bracket kits? Thanks.

It's not. I have 35s with the Mopar spare raise kit and tailgate reinforcement and the factory brake light still fits. ALTHO.. it may not be visible to the Prius behind you. I have one of those spare tire brake light rings so if they can't see that they're not looking anyway.

We put 315/70r17 on the original tire carrier and the bottom edge of the 3rd brake light was right at the top of the tire. If you push the tire up I’m almost certain it would interfere with the light.

The teraflex adjustable tire carrier or something similar is a better option because it allows you to tuck the spare in close to the tailgate minimizing the additional leverage.

If you mean the 3rd brake light just move it up to the top screw holes (the bottom holes will be unused), but before raising it, separate the front and back halves and move the wire to the inside of the screws to gain wire length

The stock carrier was designed with 35s in mind so all you technically have to do is throw the 35 on and raise the 3rd brake light with the stock adjustment screws.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the quick feedback!
Go to the Rough County site, find spare relocation plate, install instructions video, 3rd brake light is included and simple. That said, I’m going to use a Quadratec plug and play spare light ring, if I ever get it and eliminate the stock light- ordered 6-30 , Still on back order ?
