My 35x11.5r17 Toyo tires only weigh less than the 285x70r17 Nitto Grapples I took off my Jeep. In other words, no.

this is one I'm thinking. ppl forget toyos are pretty light

I put a Teraflex Alpha carrier on mine for 35s. No reinforcement yet, but that's likely down the road. I have OE steel bumpers and a 35 won't clear that option. Since I had to raise the tire I wanted to relocate the 3rd brake light. Alpha carrier accomplished that. Adjusted to stops and the spare fits tight.
