A question ?
Do all Wranglers have the same frame ?
A sport with 4 bangers or a Rubi with V6 have different engines/ power and Rubi is more for rock crawling, also hybrid weight more because batteries, not to mention 392 with V8 and more power, so i was wondering if they have the same frame.

From the original 392 press release:
"The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 chassis includes upgraded frame rails, front upper control arms and cast iron steering knuckles to take full advantage of the Wrangler Rubicon 392’s power and torque."

My recollection is that the colored portions of the frame are specific to the 392

Yes but even on the 392 I believe the frame is the same. I think the green portions in the picture above are additional parts fitted on top of the regular frame.

Was curious so looked up a 2021 392, sport with 2.0L, and diesel. Different part numbers and prices. The frame for the diesel is most expensive so it must be the best.

I actually know one of the engineers that helped to design the JL frame, and there are differences depending on the drivetrain to support higher torque/horsepower. Never asked much about it, but I remember him complaining about how the reinforcements were made as inexpensively as possible (no surprise there), and he would have preferred to design something completely new.

From what I recall, the back half of the frame is essentially the same across all models, but the front end, basically firewall forward, is where the strengthening was done.

Heavier block for the V8 and even more for the diesel. Makes sense to reinforce.

From this photo. I don’t see a “upper control arm “

A little bit of it is visible at the axle mount point and more just behind the lower section of the shock absorber. However it looks standard black to me in spite of the color coding scheme.

The parts catalog numbers however do show it as different than the 'normal' upper control arm.

My guess it that motor mounts vary frame to frame for the different engines

Make senso to reinforce frame based on engine, power and weight right ?

I would say they all start out as the same basic frame, and any differences are bolt on reinforcements or engine mounts. It is very expensive and causes logistical issues the more completely different parts you have. If the diesel or 392 need some reinforcements you would generally just use the same frame for the base model engines also. Or it would just be some sort of bolt-on or modular style.
