The way the body opening is shaped, the mount will not go any lower even if you loosen the bolts. It's locked in there very well.

Yup, that helps. So, the mount plate "wings" you where able to slot under a lip on the body panels. that's perfect!

I can see the big rub being those stupid allen screws to mount the compressor heat sink clamp to the mounting plate. I managed to mess up the heads on all of those allen scrws when I took them out of the '18.

Haha, thanks! It wasn't my idea, but I couldn't find more info about it so I wanted to share. I tried the under the hood grimm mount before reading it's not compatible with the 4xe. The brake lines are in the way, that was not a happy day!

Next venture motor sports make an air chuck mount next to the gas tank. I think it would be awesome with your setup instead of inside the cargo area

I looked them up, their air chuck doesn't fit the 4xe.

Now I regret not getting the aux switches as an option. I suppose I can add an extra switch there. It'll be slightly less convenient to access the port with a soft top. Great write up and photos, thank you!

Thank you. Got power from aux connections under the hood. You can drop the cables down, fish them through the body all the way to the front, take the cables back up to the aux switches, and enjoy. That was actually the easiest part of this whole install.

The hardest part was working on the mount because there isn't a lot of space.

I am getting ready to install this in mine (moving it from another vehicle to my Jeep). I know you wired it to your AUX switch #2, but I was wondering if you could share more details about how you did that.

I can just make out the pressure switch in one of the photos. Did you use any part of the ARB wiring harness or did you DIY your own wires? Did you use the relay from the wiring harness or wire it directly to the 40A output of AUX 2? Do you mind sharing how you have it all wired up?

I have the AUX switches, too, but I am considering using the ARB switch in the back installed alongside the quick connect - for convenience (not 100% decided on this yet). If I do that, it feels like the wiring harness is too short to reach the battery because of where the pressure switch wire connections are located. I'm hoping to get some insight from what you did.

I did it easy. Used some hard cast Thermal HVAC tape on fire wall behind carpet passenger side behind glove box. Used ARB mount that came with single comp (dual will fit as well). Ran electrical through firewall in OE gromit. Ran a 40" hose off comp (not needed) and switch electrical under door sil under seat. Used 813s seat switchpalte with coupler for secure remote connection l, 1 and done. But this was a 4xe limited on space and under seat mount electrical runs short and didn't want to extend main wire rather run hose.

I kept all the wiring outside. You can drop it down from the mount area and there is a channel that goes all the way to under the engine bay, then pick it back up to the battery or aux switches. It's very well protected there. Carefully fish it through using the openings in the channel. It's very easy, it will take 10 minutes max.

I missed this. I used the relay from the ARB wiring and ran my own wires to the aux switches under the hood. You still need the relay whether you wire it to the battery or aux switches.

Crazy I didn't need the realy I just the switch powered direct to battery. Also 1st install I just ran to my AUX and didn't need it either.

Are you talking about the relay that auto-shuts off the pump? You need that so the pump shuts off when full. Otherwise, it will continue running and cause issues.

You need to include the relay regardless of running to aux or directly to the battery.

My ARB twin gets too hot to touch filling 37's and it's in on a M.O.R.E. mount in the open interior. Air up your tires and see how hot you single gets.

My portable single gets hot, ARB puts it in a plastic box and I haven't had any issues.

I've been using it since I made this thread. Yes, it gets hot, but not to the point where it causes any issues.

What @GATORB8 said, ARB ships their portables in a plastic box, or people mount it in the cargo tub area, or under their seats.

I ended up just running the wiring all the way to the battery. Small wire runs from a tap-a-fuse for ignition-only operation to the pressure switch. From the pressure switch, I ran a small wire to the relay (which is tucked in there somewhere). Then, from the battery I ran a thick wire to the relay, and from the relay to the pump. I have an on/off switch mounted on the back trim of the rear roll bar, inline to the pressure switch.

I ran the hose from the pump out underneath the bumper and mounted my quick connect fitting on the bumper just below the 4xe logo. Super clean install, so thanks for the idea!
