Ahh, don't be so sure about that...I have owned several BMW's for over 20 years, still have one and a Porsche, too...ALL with manual transmissions...and not only do I "touch a Jeep with a stick" I love driving my JL "with a stick" when I'm not in the Porsche...or BMW. ? I think the "un-livability" of a Wrangler as a daily driver is way overblown, and a misrepresentation, but that's just me. Recently, I had the need to drive my Porsche & JL back-to-back - getting out of one right into the other - and it really hit me just how cool each was - yes quite different from one another, but both very enjoyable to drive - every day! ?
My point was just that Jeeps are ā€œdifferentā€ than cars (an acquired taste?). Living with a Jeep as your daily drive is a completely different thing than your typical BMW/Audi/whatever. I’ve driven one for years and I like ā€˜em, BUT they are definitely NOT for everybody. I Personally know non Jeep people who bought new JLU’s, had them for a few months and absolutely Hated them (and quickly unloaded them for a more typical SUV -specifically a Range Rover, a Teleride, and a Tahoe).

All have made comments to me about ā€œhow can you stand to drive a Jeep all the timeā€. I like my Jeep, and for many years my old TJ was MY DD-however, the wife always had a much more civilized vehicle for her DD and for our road trips?. Even today if I’m heading out on a long trip the Jeep is the last choice, way after my Ram PU or the wife’s Touareg. (Jeep makes a dandy toad for the motorhome though?)

I have been observing Unrelentless price increases for almost a decade. When I seriously started shopping for a wrangler back in 2014, I noticed that every three months they would make subtle price increases and during the next following years the prices increases became more aggresive, I believe they were trying to find the price ceiling for the soon to be introduced JL at the time, I think they finally found that ceiling now.... My 2015 JKUR stickered for $40K with auto, hard top and 430N unit (which was outdated from the start )

Autonation in Katy following the same plan. Tried to buy a 4xe Rubicon there in January. They tried the old salesman / sales manager tag team crap. I asked for their best deal they could make, it was over MSRP by several thousand. They got upset when wife and I started leaving. Later that night got a text from them asking what they could do. I said ā€œnothing, already bought a jeep from another dealer.ā€

Ended up buying from Mark Dodge in LOUSIANA. Easiest car purchase I have ever made. They actually came out the gate with a fair deal and made it better with minimal effort on my part.

So sad that these dealers still think they have a captive and desperate audience.
My order is also with Mark Dodge, I visited all the West Houston dealers (5-6) over the course of several weekends, all of them were MSRP or over, and they were hounding me about buying a 4xe, which I had no interest in.

And they all had this smug condescending manner like they were selling G wagons.

Funny story though, told one young sales guy I wanted a 392ā€¦ā€¦ā€what’s that?ā€ā€¦ā€¦.you know, the one with the hemi V-8…….ā€no, Jeep doesn’t do thatā€.

My dealer (Central 44 Raynham MA) has 125 2023 Wranglers on the lot & on the way (104 - 4Xe; 26-20th Aniv Rubi 4xe) ?
A reflection of what is being shoved down our throats by people who know nothing about the business of power generation. Electric vehicles have their place, are best used as urban commuter vehicles but not the levels Jeep and other manufacturers are pushing.

Where are you seeing that? Their website says they have 10 4Xe's on the lot and 13 on the way.
https://www.centralchryslerjeepdodge.net/new-vehicles/wrangler/?_dFR[make][0]=Jeep&_dFR[model][0]=Wrangler%204xe&_dFR[type][0]=New&_paymentType=our_price

[EDIT]
Huh, now it shows 103 4Xe's. Something is weird about their site.

Oh, one location is in Norwood and one location is in Raynham.

I’m less offended by $70k for a JLUR than I am by $50K for a 2dr SportS…
Eh Im ok with idiots buying a 50k sport keeps margins high and jeep in business.

Man that is a seriously broad group of vehicles running from one extreme to another. Strongly suggest she Seriously drive what she’s interested in a good bit before spending the $$$. Most BMW, Volvoor Mercedes buyers wouldn’t touch a Jeep with a stick?. Be SURE momma’s happy with the choice she makes or you’ll be trading in a few months and loose $$$. A lot of folks like the ā€œlookā€ of a Jeep but hate living with one day in, day out. (Hence those low mileage current model year jobs haunting the used care lots for other brands). If she really thinks a Jeep is for her, rent one and let her live with it for a couple weeks-money well spent if she decides it’s not for her..
She does love the look of my JL but not the ride. She ordered a 2 door Bronco. If it comes in time, great. If not, oh well.

wife is looking to get out of her Q5 and is all over the place with what she wants. from a Sahara to Outer Banks Bronco to X3 to 330i. checked out Volvo and Mercedes as well. of the 5 dealers we have visited in the last two weeks, only Jeep had stock. well, and Volvo had a few new options but everyone else was either waiting on inventory or said to order what you want.

my local Jeep dealer is discounting Wranglers now. and they have a ton on the lot. I have no plans to get rid of my JL, but i'm assuming the value is not where I expected it to be. I'm aware of the refresh coming on the 24's but we are a ways away from them. Did Wrangler sales drop off that much?
I’m addition to all the other things stated…I also wonder if the Cherokee discontinuation has also help drive part inventory to Wrangler that was in short supply due to supply chain issues. There are obvious crossover parts like uconnect 8.4, 3.6 V6, and I’m sure a whole host of less visible things like chips

Quite a few things in play, but the #1, Wrangler sales first quarter 2023 were down 17%, Bronco sales were up 37%. Jeep has to respond. 2024 facelift is a bunch of electro crap, except for the full floater. Pricing in general is a crock all over the industry, combined with interest rates, big problems for Jeep that we can take advantage of.

Sad how bad Houston dealers are. I had one tell me last year that wrangler wasn’t making 2 doors anymore.

Those bronco numbers are a bit skewed cause stock was finally available for a bit. Until you can just buy or order a bronco without a year wait the numbers have to be taken with a grain of salt.

Yeah, it seems odd that they have been unable to source enough chips to satisfy demand for Wranglers with the safety packages and now they are going to make some of those safety features standard equipment in the 2024s.

What's the name of the Jeep dealership that has a bunch on the lot. I would prefer a 2023 over a 2024.
Roberson Jeep in Salem, Oregon has 30 new 2023 Wranglers in stock. Not "tons", and nothing like pre-COVID inventory, but their inventory appears to be climbing by a unit or two every month.

This is just what most of us predicted and discussed at great length in threads where some younger members were talking about Jeeps as "investments" and expecting to be able to make money trading for the newest model every year.

I’m with you on that…I’m ok with the restyling but I think having the antenna integrated into the windshield is a terrible idea. We ordered and are waiting for our 20th anniversary edition to arrive ✌
