I'm over here wishing I could have gotten the Diesel in a 2-door, and this guy is stretching his two-door? What's going on?

(Seriously though, man that's a lot of work - is it really worth it?)

Looks like a lot of time/money/energy. I don’t the juice being worth the squeeze. yMMV

Definitely worth the squeeze. Things like approach, departure, clearance, and breakover are real. To maximize offroad capabilities you need to match your wheelbase, tire size, and lift to those factors. The Jl is too short and the JLU is too long. If you're running moderate trails or hitting all the bypasses, then it is not worth it. But, if your goal it the hard line every time, worth it!

Different strokes I guess 😊. I gave up Trying to get hung up several decades ago. To ME the fun stops when you’re stuck, and then it becomes Work😳. I know there are folks who push to the max and 👍 to ‘em. (I “could” be talked into one of those conversions that change a U to a 2 dr pickup though…😏)

is it easier to stretch a 2 door or shrink a 4 door?
He is only stretching the wheelbase; not stretching or shrinking the whole jeep. Cutting up and removing or adding to frame, and body is going to require a lot of work either way; guys stretch vehicles all the time to turn into limo's but that's not what's happening here.

The goal of stretching the jeep's wheelbase is to keep the Jeep frame and body the same and make for a more stable platform for wheeling improving approach and departure angles for 2 or 4 doors; break over suffers but that just make bigger tires more necessary.

how do you stretch the wheelbase without the body? Wont the axles not be centered in the wheel wells?

Definitely worth it if you want to do serious trails.

My friends and I did that to a TJ.
