The flying bastards ran into me last January 2020, insurance company recommended on local auto body place that I never used before, did the best job ever and I was done in about a week. Scared the shit of my large dog who was sitting in the rear seat.

Sorry that happened. I know how it feels though! Glad no one was hurt.

I was hit by a decent sized buck in my WK2 at the beginning of January. Ran right into the side of me. $7k worth of damages. Still waiting for all the parts to come in so the body shop can get started on the repair. Scared the absolute crap out of me and my lab that was in the back seat, because I never saw him coming.

Let me start by saying it could have been significantly worse but as the title states a deer ran into the driver’s side of my brand new Rubicon XR.It was a buck, but a smaller buck and while the Jeep suffered enough damage to the fender that it will need replacement, a pretty good size dent in the hood and a few minor dents down the side it can and will be fixed. First time that’s happened to me in my 18ish years of driving. Guess that makes me 1-0

Man.... sorry for you. We live in deer country but I only saw a few last year. Usually brake slamming all season long.

Could have been worse I suppose...

My dog never even flinched ?. He was more annoyed I pulled over and interrupted his beauty rest. Not actually a picture from the time of event but you get the idea. I was worried it might take months. Hope you get yours back together soon

Just wondering if these deer warning things sold on Amazon work LOL

Some of my relatives swear by those. They would run into a deer, almost every year. Since they have been using them, they haven't had any incidents with any.
In parts of Texas, the Whitetails can be pretty bad. Parts of Arkansas too. They have them on every car and truck, for years.

Consider yourself lucky. I hit a deer in MT a few years ago and totaled a new Subaru Forrester rental. They say hitting a deer is a once in a lifetime event - now you’ve had your 1. My wife on the other hand has hit 3 as a driver and 2 more as a passenger.

Wow that is a shame, and it's amazing I've been wheeling here in Arizona for quite some time and have never seen a deer jump out, there's been coyotes, javelina, bobcats, skunks, quail, roadrunners.

No they don’t. Before retirement I was heavily involved with the safety department at FedEx and we did a 10 year study on every kind of these things. We had chipping speakers, whistles, and every other kind of gimmick to help with deer strikes. After 10 years we saw no difference and stopped the program.

I've had deer run into my vehicles 3 times over the years. None were bad enough to total the vehicle, but all caused damage.

Be careful out there, particularly after sunset and before dawn. Those dumb critters don't recognize headlights.

One morning at 4AM, I came around a curve and hit 3 deer at one time in my truck. One on the passenger front corner, one on the driver front corner, and one on the extended cab door on the driver side.
