I haven't hit a deer, yet, with my Wrangler but I did get to drive through a tar spill on a nearby road when a tar delivery truck failed to fully close the tank valve. Had about 1,200 miles on the Wrangler at the time.
Funny thing is, I thought I had mostly missed the tar which was leaked in the middle portion of the road for over 8 miles. Took the Jeep to the dealership to have protective film installed and when I was outside checking out a Wrangler 392 that had just showed up the service writer called my phone.
You must have been on Cliff Road today he asked me. Apparently I wasn't the only vehicle with tar damage. There was tar dripping off the right side of my vehicle onto the showroom floor where it as getting the film installed. BUMMER.
I ended up getting 4 new tires paid by the trucking companies insurance company. It was hard to find any detail company that I felt could properly remove the tar without causing further damage so I purchased a bunch of tar removal chemicals and did the work myself. I was compensated for the chemicals and the time I spent working on it.
