My mail is usually a little slow getting to me, but in this shipment there was a card regarding an apparent death wobble lawsuit.

sorry if this is a repeat but I haven't noticed a thread about it.

Ut basically provides extended warranty for the steering stabilizer.

Anyone else get this?

Yep. Got it a couple of weeks ago. The settlement is hardly worth the paper it’s printed on. For the consumer anyway. But the lawyers just got rich(er).

It's not final final yet, but that's the proposed settlement unless the April thing decides it's not good enough.
Some interesting engineering information came along with that card - I had no idea that death wobble was only a thing in 2018 through 2020. I could have sworn some with a 2021 or even a 2016 have experienced it, but according to this, it's not a thing in other years.

This really isn't general "death wobble", this is a material failure of the stabilizer used for those years.

The TSB has a new version installed with a specific orientation.

And that's why it shouldn't be referred to as a death wobble settlement. It's a steering stabilizer defect.
Too much connection to that device as far as cause and effect and cure.

And I just replaced mine like a sucker!
You have a '21 so won't be impacted by this in any case.
I've only ever had one go bad or have any issues - that was on a 1982 SX4 with 160,000 miles.
My 2020 Gladiator I traded last summer had 27,000 miles and that part was fine on that truck.

I came down on a rock and put a hole in mine. Took it off and upgraded.

Good excuse for an upgrade. Good that other parts are mostly protected or you could have been in a world of hurt.
That should have been warranty since dealers routinely display things things perched up on rocks.

Wonder if we ca elect just to take the 75 cent cash back instead of a new stabilizer??. I replaced mine over a year ago?

I wouldn't want another POS stock stabilizer if they gave it to me. Mine was total junk in less than 3 years and 34K miles. When I removed it, the stabilizer could be freely moved by hand without any resistance.

Just replaced mine after the initial fix 2 years and 20k miles ago. Lots of play. Went with AEV. Seems solid so far.

I have a 2021 JLU Islander (Sport S), no lift, same lousy all season tires it came with, regularly serviced, and I have experienced death wobble. Again it happens occasionally, always at highway speed, and from hitting small bumps/imperfections in the driving surface. Not pot holes, but bumps or ridges. If Jeep fixed the issues in 2021, I didn’t gain from it.

Its unfortunate that the term "Death Wobble" has become so diluted. 90%+ of people that have had "death wobble" probably havent and its no more than general shake in a SFA/Steering Box vehicle that would have had in an 80s pickup.
