The dealership fooled me once years ago and didn’t rotate the tires at all. Ever since then I mark the tires with chalk.

I’ve been doing 5-tire rotation on my JL since purchase, following the pattern found on this forum and saved this pic in my phone. No balance, no problem.

I use this exact diagram. I print it out and tape it to the review mirror. So far (two rotations), so good. However, I keep my tires at 28 but two rotations ago, my tires were very generously aired up to the factory 37. Now I have to make a BIG point about that when going in for service.

Brought my JL in for scheduled tire rotation, they got it done super quick..... When I got home, I realized that they didn't ask me for the lug lock key, which I have in a plastic bag in my tool bag in the back of my Jeep, so either they knew where to look ( unlikely) or they lied and said that they did the tire rotation
Perhaps you should count your blessings! :)

The link below is about Sears… but the technicians who used to work there are now at your local jeep dealer:

I do my own 5 wheel rotation and always tell the dealer not to rotate the tires. On my final free oil change a couple weeks ago I forgot to tell them. Invoice listed tire rotation…pretty good seeing as I have Gorilla locks on all 5 wheels.

Yeah, had that happen on my first Wave service. They said that they had to set everything to spec for liability reasons. I get it, I suppose. At least they seem to have done everything else correctly.

I'm now past the free services, and will be doing my own.

My dealership wont even rotate my 37s under the Wave program. Claim they are too big. Must have a bunch of wimps working for them. Ended up doing it myself with no issues. At least I got the free oil change.

I do my own services except if the manufacturer is doing it for free. i had shoddy to down right fraudulent services performed over years from many different service departments. You’ll be surprised how often you’re not getting what you think you’re getting. The most common thing is not changing the oil filter. I mark everything since I don’t trust any of them. The worst service experience I’ve had is with volvo. the oil changes took about 15 minutes and come with tire rotation. I was skeptical about them doing the tire rotation so I market the tires. when the service writer returned the keys I ask him if they are certain that the tires were rotated and he said he saw the tech doing it. I went outside and the tires were not rotated. I called him on it and told I was skeptical so I marked the tires. This time I watched him rotate them. The next time I came back I did the same thing. And they didn’t rotate them again. But this time the tech stood by his story saying he did it And I must have marked them after the rotation. I asked to speak to the owner but he wasn’t in and the gm was in a meeting. Asked for him to call but no call. I even left voice message. This tells me that this fraudulent practice comes from the top down. I bet they charged volvo for the rotation. My wife traded this vehicle shortly afterwards because it soured her this much to the brand. Now she’s driving a Subaru outback wilderness and loving it. And I’ll be doing the services myself even if they are free.
On other vehicles I’ve had vehicles returned with the same oil filter more than once. They change the oil but not the filter. Always write the date on the filter if your not doing it yourself.
