I guess the dealers have no set system when they place an order. I sat with the salesman and he entered the options I wanted on the computer, printed it out I had to sign the form and he gave me a copy. Everything was verified again when the next day I received a vin/von and reverified that everything was copasetic, signed again that all was well and my jlr came in pretty damn quick with exactly what I ordered. There is no way there is any misunderstanding with both signatures on the order forms. Took less than an hour. I will say I knew exactly what I wanted so didn't have to listen to a long line of (would you like this?) from the salesman. Just said this is what I want. if you can do it fine, if not I'll keep my JK.

Seems like a somewhat common dealer oversight. When I sent my exact spec (hard top) out for quotes, the first dealer came back with no top listed. The price looked great, but I realized pretty quickly the quote was for a standard soft top because the MSRP was less than the online configurator, short by the cost of the hardtop option.

It's pretty easy to think that what you want is default or buried in one of the packages. Theoretically the dealership knows those details, but apparently not always.

I am not aware of any way to jump the queue. You’ll just have to re-order and wait.
There actually is a way to assign a high priority to a special order, but... it's only used in extreme cases (ex. train derailment / vehicle destroyed in transit between factory and dealer) and it has to be approved by the zone rep. If the dealership in question has a good reputation with the zone rep it's possible they could push a re-order, but I'm thinking that your dealer might not be on the "good" list.

The only other way to get an order quicker is by ordering from a high volume dealer closer geographically to Toledo. Those dealers (Gupton is a great example of this) are one truck roll out of Toledo so after the Jeep is built it spends the least amount of time in transit compared to a dealer further away that requires rail shipment, which also requires a truck roll from the rail terminal to the dealer.

In your case, as of today, we're six weeks out from July 1st. Do you feel lucky? :)

@Philament Really sorry to hear about what happened, it's important to request a POC (Priced Order Confirmation) from the dealer when you place an order which is essentially a customer invoice breaking down the exact build options. Of course this doesn't help now, and as many others have eluded, your best option (given you are looking for a specific color/build) is to place a fresh order.

I'm not sure of all your details on how you wish to purchase, if you are using Affiliate or not, but we would be happy to assist and help you get a new order in. There is no way to guarantee build times, but 6 weeks is not an unheard of timeline by any stretch, it's just a roll of the dice - what happens if a car comes on July 15th? How firm is that deadline?

We are a concierge service and charge a service fee to customers, but I would be happy to waive our fee for you and put an order in with our dealer. They are based in FL, but we ship nationwide. I don't want to threadjack or solicit, but our door is open if you wish to DM us!

I learned many years ago, never, ever trust a dealer. That is unfortunate, isn't it. This still sticks with me today. That aside,

My exact experience. I gave them a $500.00 refundable deposit check and they gave me a receipt (for the check) and a signed POC.

Eight weeks later to the day, my new JLU was offloaded from the truck and we sailed through the delivery process.

I too knew what I wanted, and did heaps of pre- and post-purchase due diligence so that there weren't any surprises during any step in the process. Reviewing the relevant threads on this forum before and after I ordered the Jeep was very helpful, too.

If I remember correctly, the POC will say things like "Rubicon X Package", but won't list the details of what's in that package. Maybe that package includes aux switches & tow hitch? Maybe not? Maybe it includes the Xtreme 35 Tire Package? Maybe not?

I just reviewed the original POC for my factory order JLU. The few options I selected (e.g., soft top window storage bag) were all stand-alone selections, with corresponding single line items on the document. I can't personally confirm whether or not any Groups, or Packages, are consolidated into a single line item on a hardcopy POC.
