I don’t know, but do these things still have a neutral safety switch? That’s what it sounds like.

This might sound stupid but worth a try. When the batteries in your FOB are too low to start your vehicle. You can still start the Jeep by using the butt end of the key fob to push the start button. It works cause I have had to use this. It may be worth a try..Look it up in your manual, not spoofing you..
Have already been using the butt end of key fob for awhile, but thx for suggestion. code scanner sounds interesting but jeep's already being towed to dealer, my mechanic down the street chickened out on me and thought it best to see dealer in case he wouldn't be able to figure it out. Will be interesting to see what the problem will turn out to be, hate being at the mercy of the dealer.

Yeah, I do have that ESS, have had it turned off, I will see if I can get the batteries checked out. What I don't understand headlights seem strong when turn on, but cant get ignition to go to run or start, pushing start button does nothing. So maybe the auxiliary battery could cause this? where is that battery located? thx
You should replace both. At the same time if it has the second one

Had something similar happen.
Come back to 2025 Jeep JL Wrangler 2 Door after leaving it on battery tender for 3 days.
Disconnect tender, shut hood, try to start after depressing clutch and brake but does not start. Start button will not even go to ACC or RUN. Lights are not dim and no evidence of dead battery. Dash display has the "Depress Clutch to Start" message.

Disconnect battery to clear circuit but no luck. Go back to try to start but still a dead start button. I am able to make a distress call at which point the large 12.3 display turns on until the call is ended and then the main displays turns off. I'm still unable to get start button to go to ACC or Run.

I reattach the battery tender because the display still reads "depress clutch to start" and don't want battery to die. I come back next morning and the display is dark. I disconnect the battery tender and the car starts!

Has this happened to anyone else?

That damn secondary battery has caused me some really strange issues. I had mine on the tender over night. When I took it off it was really hot. Now I start the jeep and I cant control my air-conditioning, it just turns on and no controls work. I have to shut it off and restart, then its fine>. Fricking Gremlins.

Yeah, mine was so hot it melted the paint off the plastic. After I reattached it overnight, everything worked the next morning
