Dead battery. Jump start?

My daughter left her heating blanket in the on position. So ....a few moments later...actually a few days later my battery was completely dead! Can I jump start it as you would normally jump start any regular vehicle or is there some precautions I should take prior to jump starting. Thanks!

If the battery is totally dead, it probably will need to be replaced. I would put it on a low amp charge for a few hours before tying to start it.

I recently jump started an engine with a battery reading 10.x volts. Insufficient to start the vehicle by itself, but not completely discharged, as you claim the battery in your Jeep is. If the volts are truly at or near zero, I wouldn't attempt a jump start. Either connect a charger in an attempt to resurrect the drained battery prior to a jump start attempt, or better yet, replace it with a new one for peace of mind.

If it's OEM, it's probably due anyway. Especially now. Replace it.

Last question, are the stock batteries standard or AGM. I have the tow package so it should come equipped with the larger battery. My battery charger states to pick a battery type and the options are STD or AGM. Stock battery is AGM.

Also, if you have an aux battery as well, you need to replace that one at the same time as the main battery.

Overnight would be better. And if it's NOT a sealed battery you might want to check the fluid levels in the cells before charging.

I don't know and I try not to ever assume. I offered the suggestion as I have no idea what battery the OP has.

Well, this charger worked for me in the past when the battery was partially dead. But it does not charge a completely dead battery! Any recommendations?

Since, the battery is an AGM battery it should be able to be recovered with a quality smart AGM Charger. A smart AGM Charger will properly recover a completely discharged AGM battery. A standard battery charger will destroy an AGM battery with the charging process.
