Well that's concerning since I do travel the interstate when traveling up north a few hours so see family a few times a year. It's been smooth so far. I did develop a vibration at about 64 mph about a week after install.. took it back and come to find out I threw a weight. Been great ever since.. I guess I better start beefing up the steering components and ball joints at least.. hopefully I don't have any issues.. guess I may have to look into lighter wheels and tires at some point.. I only have about 3700 miles on these wheels and tires
Not any you need to move on today. But those ball joints are going to take a hit over time. Alignment and balancing are key to making it last.

I agree ball joints would be first on my list. I’m trying to figure out honeypot at 119lbs though. I’m sitting at 109lbs with 37’s and my method wheels.. you can also look into trussing the front Dana 30..

Probably fine on road and mild no rock crawling off road. Ball joints etc as mentioned above will wear faster but when they go upgrade them. As for the axle I would be very cautious if on 5+ trail offroading as it will bend eventually if you do it regular or semi regularly - I have seen it happen. You could truss and gusset the DANA30 and that would help a lot if you intend to up your rack crawling. Also you could watch for DANA44 take offs on the various sites. Whatever you do, do not put a locker in the DANA30 or you will be asking for it.

My tires are 72lbs and wheels are 42lbs. Very heavy.. didn't pay attention to the weight of the wheels when I bought them.

I watch some people when they're wheeling and I have to wonder if they're sponsored (they're not). Too fast, slamming into stuff, way too much skinny pedal, hopping and bouncing. Yeah, that will tear stuff up in a hurry. I estimate half the issue is how people drive.

I had heavy 33's and spacers on my JK 2-door D30/44, 2.5" lift, hundreds of pounds of bumpers and accessories, for over 50k miles. Lots of freeway 70+ mph, and, wheeled plenty here in the pacific northwest- lots of rock- things were still pretty tight. The only issue was the D44, actually, an axle seal gave up early. No busted/bent tie rods, no loose ball joints, no failed u-joints. I did have the power steering flushed twice in that time period - it needed it.

My vote is you'll be just fine--if you drive halfway sane.

Thank you.. I appreciate the feedback and experience. I do baby the jeep.. she's my pride and joy and has to be my daily as well.. so I'm easy on the skinny pedal both on and off road.. and the off road she sees isn't really anything major. I would like to try a little more obstacles but there isn't much of that where I live. And I do plan on beefing up the tie rod, drag link and ball joints at some point at the very least.. then keep going as money allows. I appreciate everyone's input.

You are definitely shortening the life of your suspension and steering components. By how much, it depends on how you use the Jeep.

I had a set of 35/12.5R17 General Grabber MTs on my 2013 Rubicon 2-door. Each tire weighed 80 lbs plus the wheel. So I guess right around 110 lbs on each corner.

The OE tie rod and drag link got chewed up after only 10,000 miles.

My Jeep dealer at the time was just awesome. After they put the Jeep up on a lift the service manager says to me “I can put new OE parts in there under warranty, but your heavy tires will chew them up and you will be back here in 10,000 miles.”

Alternatively, he offered to install beefier aftermarket components. So I got a beefy set of YETI drag link + tie rod and that was last I heard of it. The Jeep drove much nicer, too.
Hi, could you elaborate a little more on what you mean by "chewed up"? What particular component will be affected? The bushings?

Yes. In this particular instance, all the bushings were gone.

In my situation, replacing the tie rod and drag link under warranty with OE parts would have solved nothing. I would have been back to square one in another 10,000 miles.

Not even.. it's the Fuel Assault. 17x9
I can’t stay much. Method has my wheels listed at 29.4lbs each and milestar has the MT-02 listed at approx. 73.8lbs. Wonder how heavy just your tires are. Approximate weig is 103.2lbs but actual scaled weight for me was 109.2

I put the combo on my home scale before I installed them and it was pretty on point if I remember correctly. About 114.. heavy.. I may need to lighten up.. but I only got 3600 miles on the setup
