So if anyone can help that would be great - like the title says I have a creaking sound in the suspension. It started probably 6 months ago.
Here is the weird part: it was only when it rained or got wet underneath!
Now that we just got back from the Maine Mountain Jeep Jamboree, where the JL really got to stretch it legs (def. got full flex on all four corners multiple times and the Jeep got a serious workout - we did the mid rated trails) it is all the time no longer just when wet. (or at least every time I go over broken pavement, potholes, speed bumps, etc.)
It really sounds like the rubber bushings in the control arms. This weekend I plan to check the torque on everything. (which is a pain in the butt since the JL uses torque and degree settings arrgghh!)
Basically stock suspension. the only add was 3/4" daystar spacers and longer bumpstops. I also have the longer Mopar front lca's.

Thoughts?
One of the easy sections for reference ;)

I would check torque as well as looking for anything outta place. I would also have a can of waterproof lube on hand and spray all the bushings and spring seats just to be sure they have lubrication.

Yeah, that was my plan. Just wondering if anyone has found a reason for this happening. Already did a pretty thorough visual inspection, but will do a better one once it is up on the lift. Thanks for the input :like:

Was the Mopar control arms torqued while Jeep was on the ground ?

Yes, I made sure everything was torqued on the ground and after I rocked the Jeep back and forth a bunch to made sure of no bind.
It is not the end of the world by any means, but it is pretty annoying that my basically brand new Jeep now sounds like and old horse and buggy going up my road (which is a horrible old broken pavement, rocks path more than a road at this point haha)
Thank you though.

Oh I get it…… I hate creaks and squeaks….. the usual suspects are the control arm bushings, and sway bar frame mount bushings front and rear. Can also come from coils if isolators aren’t clocked right. Also can be track bar bushings on stock track bars……..

Spray every rubber bushing you can with this, wipe off excess.
Ok, thank you I will try that I was going to spray silicone spray but Fluid Film seems like it might work better.

Thank you -

Not related to hard wheeling but I’ve got this squeak that happens when I touch the brakes but only when I’m going forward under 20 mph. Doesn’t happen in reverse. Naturally I thought it must be the brakes. But when I stop and put it back into park there’s an extra squeak that sounds just like the tapping brakes squeak. I’m not smart enough to understand what’s happening and why it’s only in forward and when I put it in park. This existed before and after putting lift on.

:movember: That sounds very strange. Something rubbing on one of the driveshafts? I highly doubt it, but would take a good look underneath and try to see anything that looks weird.

So it has been a little while so thought I would update.
Put it up on the the lift, then I power washed all the mud off so I could see what I was doing haha!
Then checked for any changes in torque. All the torque paint marks from the coil spacers install were still there and lined up so it's not that.
I then sprayed every suspension joint very heavily with silicone spray. (I did not use fluid film because the can says to be careful on certain types of rubber it can make it swell or something like that I don't quite remember at the moment)
Now the creaking sound is gone, but there is a bit of a clunk now instead that was not there before I sprayed it.
It is not horrible, but annoying. I am running out of ideas though of what is going on. Thanks again everyone.
