This is why I went with the KC. Two point mount, but very solid.
Yep--you were totally correct; looking at those now. The Baja's have a fairly wide base plate, can you tell me how wide the KC mounts area is?

Let me know if this helps.

How far from the center of the light mounting holes to the outer edge?
It is slotted. Center of slotted light mount is about 1.5” from end (outside of mount)

See update response above. With pic.
So overall it is about 3" wide (1-1/2" from center of slot to each edge)?

Closer to 3.5” from the pic above. On the upper mounting platform.
Should work well on the XL Sports. I know you have to replace the cowl bolt with a new one, but what about the hinge bolt? Is the OEM long enough or is there a new one with the mount?

Windshield uses the OEM, it is a strange sleeved bolt.

I finished roughing in the wiring and mounted the lights today. Many thanks to @Gdub for his advice on the KC mounts; they are VERY nice--rock solid and were cheaper than the Baja's.

I am having a new relay mounting plate machined so I will wait until I receive it to complete the terminations, but here are a few photos:

Guys from watching this thread I ended up going with dual lights on each side. I used Baja squads. I got a question. For the lights on opposite side of the Jeep should I just run under the wipers so I’m behind the firewall? And then meet up with the other 2 lights to go down to the aux switch tie ins?
I ended up ordering the dual mounts from Baja. They looked pretty low profile.
this thread helped a lot even though I kinda went off in a somewhat different path but I wanted to get everything from one place.
I’m still trying to learn here.

Just tuck it under the cowl, no need to run it all the way under the windshield wipers unless under the cowl is what you meant.

Oh so I can have it in the engine bay but tucked under? I thought I had to be behind the foam stuff.
