Trail only, or can yo use them on the road without blinding oncoming traffic?

I noticed today, only with the car running I get a very subtle flicker? Anyone have this issue?

Personally, I think they look hideous.
But to each his own.

What is benefit of amber?
I'm certainly no expert, but my understanding is that yellow/amber lights have these main differences

1) Amber lights don't reflect as much as white lights. Bad if you're trying to spot obstacles a few hundred feet away, but great if you're trying to see through the fog or dust in your near view.

2) Amber light is 'easier for our eyeballs/brains to process' vs white light. Kinda like how 'night mode' on recent cellphones makes the screen look more yellow.

This guy definitely can explain it better than I can though:
