For anyone thinking of ordering make sure you aren’t getting old stock or you’ll have to send your new lights back for the upgrade.

If you order from Baja Designs directly you’ll get the latest version.

I recently bought a set a few months ago. They are the original version. Shortly thereafter BD contacted me to let me know that v2 would be available and I can send my v1 in to be upgraded to the v2 at no charge. I can’t think of any product or company that’s ever done that. Some even want you to pay when their product fails and qualifies for their “warranty”.

I have the v1 BD squadron amber fogs and will definitely be sending them back for the v2 upgrade. How awesome is it that BD is taking care of it's customers and doing this as a free upgrade. That is why all the lighting on my jeep is BD! They make a great product and stand behind their stuff.

Oh, these look awesome! I wonder if there will be a comparison to the Diode Dynamics version?
These will be a nice addition to the market!

We will be happy to do a comparison after the 8-10 week lead time on the production of these units.

Unless Baja Designs releases comparison images or coverage before then!

Cheers

They're doing an SAE Upgrade program for only 1st gen SAE lights. Unfortunately, it doesn't apply to the Sport or Pro series lights which I have ? ..but still really great they're offering this to their customers!

A couple days ago, I noticed some moisture behind the lense of one of my factory led fogs lights. On the way home from work yesterday, I noticed that it burned out because I was only seeing one light reflecting off of various vehicles that were in front of me at red lights.

I instantly felt like I was driving a jalopy, and ocd was causing my eye to twitch...

I shut them off, but for conspicuity's sake, I always like driving with the running and fogs on. The eye twitching became worse with every mile...

I just pulled the trigger on a set of these new lights with amber lenses, and also a set of S2 Pros with clear combo lenses for aux reverse purposes. The latter will solely be wired to my SwitchPros controller, so they are there only when needed. I see no need to be blinding everyone when backing out of a spot in a well lit parking lot. Plus, I've always wanted to be able to "thank" those who like to drive around with their brights on. :bandit:

My ocd and I are chomping at the bit to get my fogs up and running. If Baja Designs is reading this, I'd be willing to perform some back alley favors to be put at the top of the shipping queue. :like:

I put a pair of the round Squadron Pros in my rear bumper controlled by an AUX switch. They are way brighter than I’d imagined as reverse lights, I’m glad I switched them rather than wire them to act as dedicated reverse lights. The’ll definitely send an unmistakable message to someone behind you with brights on. I may swap them out for Squadron Sports.

Yeah, the Squadron Pros are about 9000 lumens per pair. That unmistakable message will be accompanied by the smell of their singed hair.

We may have to put a big warning message on the back to not highbeam me if you're epileptic and/or want to maintain your hairline. ?

I'm sure a comparison will be in the near future.

@Headbarcode did you get them yet?
I ordered from @Northridge4x4 over the weekend, and they believe that their stock is the new version. Anyway, fingers crossed. Can’t wait, should have them early next week.

No, still waiting. No indication of a time frame, but Baja Designs has been sending me regular emails to let me know I haven't been forgotten and that they are doing everything they can to fill orders asap. Kudos to them for doing that, where most companies tend to leave customers in the dark until a tracking number is in the system.

I may be wrong, but from my own personal experiences, manufacturers tend to put their distributors orders towards the top of the fulfillment list.

Quick example:
I tried ordering the Reid Racing knuckles directly from them when they were first released. They were supposed to call me back to place the order, but I never heard from them. After a week of not hearing anything, I saw them at my usual go-to, which is Northridge 4x4. I had them in my hands less than a week later.

That is just one of a few examples, so I'm not surprised to hear about you getting them in such short order from a larger dealer.

I ordered about 6 weeks ago on march 11th, so hopefully they'll be invoiced and shipped soon. I miss having a set of functional fog lights.

Please share your thoughts and pics when you get them, so I can stare at them with childish thoughts. ?

Cheers, buddy!
